Rare finds...?

So good I just have to congratulate you again..... Actually did I congratulate you first time round, hmm will have to go check but what a find, it gives everyone hope they are out there to be had :)

Certainly items out there you just have to think outside the box a little when searching, typing vintage Star Wars as a search on Ebay you've pretty much guaranteed yourself a list of items for sale that another few thousand people have already seen but if you search using differnet words you do actually stumble across the odd bargain.

I've picked up a few deals recently that actually appeared in the suggested for you part at the bottom of another listing, for some reason these listing didn't show up in a general search. Research and knowledge is also key for picking up rarer items, knowing what you are looking for and a general feel for picking out the bullshit from the legit also helps.

I used to marvel at how some members on here could pick a rarer item from a pic that other wise looked like a standard one so I learnt what to look for and it certainly helps.

There was a poorly listed rare trilogo figure on ebay just the other day, I just missed out on him  Hope someone on here got him :D

I often look in charity shops - but nothing, they all seem to know what things are worth these days :x

Congrats Adam lovely figures, that's good to know. Can your Mother in law look for me?

Just got myself a non-Star Wars toy rare bargain on eBay for £3.99 including postage - probably worth about £20. Every little helps!

Always hop to find a Yak face in one - They had The Beatles album rubber sole in recently ... wanted £75 for it though !

I've found some harder to find items (mostly modern SW) online, but indeed usually because they either don't know Star Wars, or made some spelling error that would not have the item appear when searching for "Star Wars". I have found some cool stuff hiding in bargain bins on conventions or flee markets, but those again usually sellers who have no idea about SW.

Most "rare" stuff doesn't go unnoticed online these days. Too many people browsing that apparently have no day job or anything (seriously, some people are bidding on almost all SW items that appear on a local version of eBay).

Recently picked up the 16" Treebeard figure that someone was selling as "Boom" (Dutch for "Tree").

Depends what pressing it was and whether it was stereo or mono, still could've been a bargain! (reformed vinyl junkie here!) Still some charity shops take the piss now - Oxfam is the worst of the worst with their crazy prices.

That's true mate - forgot to look to see if it was 1st issue mono/stereo, but i think gone are the days of finding beates albums for a couple of quid :|

Free to those who can afford it, very expensive to those who can't  ..in other words free to those who have a mole in the charity shop
