Wanted to put this up for our Irish members.
Jim Stynes was a Gaelic footballer who shifted to Australia back in the 1980's to play Aussie Rules.
He became one of the games greats and I believe he still holds the record for the most consecutive games played with 244 which is an achievement in itself.
More than the fact he was a great footballer he was a great person, his charity work and tireless endeavours helping unfortunate and troublesome kids through his charity REACH was a true mark of the man's character.
He was an absolute credit to Ireland and very much loved by his adoptive Australia, so much so he is to be given a state funeral to honour his work in the community.
R.I.P. Jimmy Stynes.
