I think he would be an improvement, although he also likes to tinker with square pegs in round holes.
I'm not sure if he's distanced himself already but I think he has said in the past that he couldn't go to Barca because of his time at Espanyol so this may be similar
I'm also not sure he's the right man for the job, I really liked Poch and he was a 'very good' manager, but in 2019 being very good doesn't win you trophies, you need to be incredible. I don't think Pep will leave City until he wins the CL, in fact he's never even got to a final. So he still has unfinished business, otherwise he might have fancied a challenge

Arsenal may struggle to get a decent manager as that squad is pure Championship, bar the two strikers. Very very few Arsenal players would make a City or Liverpool match day squad. Effectively whoever comes in has to either work miracles by polishing a turd (getting David Luis to look like a defender) or rebuild the entire squad on a shoestring as there are no signs of the Board splashing the cash (not that Jan is ever a good time to try to buy anyway). Why would a decent manager want that when he could wait and take over A.N.Other "big" club with a better squad and more money?
I suspect Arsenal will end up taking a chance on an 'up and coming' manager and hoping.

I may have red and white tinted glasses on but I think we have a good enough squad to challenge for top 4, even with our shite CBs and iffy midfield so we should probably be a fairly attractive option for someone.
We need to get someone that understands they should focus on winning games by utilising our attacking prowess rather than trying to rely on our aforementioned shite defence

Your keeper is dodgy, your CB's are shite, Bellerin has hardly played and has looked a shadow of himself, Tierney is as raw as they come, your midfield is woeful and your back up options up top are martinelli and Pepe. Arsenal need an overhaul. They need to sell 80% of that squad and upgrade it. That can't be done in 1 or 2 windows. That's a two or three year job. The fact Emery has wasted 18 months going nowhere just makes the new manager's job a little harder. The 70m you spent on Pepe looked strange in the summer. Now it looks utterly daft. With glaring holes in that squad why spend most of your money strengthening the strongest part of your team!?
Still, if whoever comes in has a style of play and picks his best eleven week in week out that will at least put him one step ahead of Emery.

And now the match is over, and once again Spurs manage to make an easy win look difficult through carelessness and complacency. I'm glad they won, but Bournemouth never should have scored twice.

A fairly dismal Spurs performance last night, Utd were the better team for most of the game and could have scored a few more. Sissoko gives away too many penalties for my liking, and considering he only scores one goal a decade I'm struggling to see what he adds. I guess Jose is still new enough to justify making so many changes to the starting line up as he finds his way, but I hooe some stability returns soon, can't help the team gel if there's 10 different players on the pitch every game.
I was had Spurs Utd on the Ipad last night while Liverpool was on TV, the pen looked soft to me. It reminded me of the one Brighton/Burnley got against Everton. Yeah, he stands on his foot but if that happens anywhere else on the pitch the ref waves play on. In fact it happened 3 times in the Merseyside Derby and only once was a free given and that was cos it was blatantly NOT an accident on that occasion.
On that note, bye bye Marco. If you aint sacked by the time I am writing this I suspect your P45 is in the post. Not all his fault but given the money they have spent, the commentator last night said half a billion since yer man took over, they should NOT be in the bottom 3.
Saying that, their squad does NOT look like it has had half a billion spent on it. Whoever is in charge of transfers or signs them off needs fired too.

I agree the Rashford pen was soft, he made the most of it. The amount of times you see defenders nibbling at attackers in the box like that I just think why? Your gambling as a defender. Would have been a shocker if Utd had not won that game, happy with Rashford, he's scoring a lot of goals, hope he keeps this level up for the rest of the season and doesn't get injured otherwise we may finish in the bottom half. :lol:
OK, a very good win and performance by Spurs against Burnley today, with a pair of super strikes from Kane and a goal of the season contender from Son, but am I hallucinating or did Sissokrap score another goal?! After hitting the post in the first half when it would have literally been easier to score, I was expecting my usual nothing from him up front, and yet he's scored once again for Spurs!... Perhaps Jose really is the Special One if he can turn him into a regular goal scorer!
I seem to remember Sissoko scored quite a few goals for Newcastle, so I never really understood how he managed to miss every single shot he ever took for Spurs. Great to see him finally hit the target a couple of times, those odd goals from midfielders can make all the difference. And yes some absolute screamers from Kane and Son, I still think Spurs will struggle to make top 4 after such a poor start but it was great to see them play well again. The potential for success is definitely there.
And WTF happened to Everton? How can one training session change you from a relegation battler to that? Got to blame the players for Silva's lack of success surely.

A very enjoyable game to watch and the Son goal (not wanting to repeat every pundit.. but) surely it has to be the Goal of the Season!
I was very sceptical of Mourinho coming in, but I was one that openly said Poch needed to go many months prior to the actual switch... I am though, so far, becoming more convinced, if a little nervous of the expected tantrum and acting up we surely have to expect at some point, sooner than later..
