VAR is ****, Daniel James was almost murdered in that Liverpool game.

Ashley Young has been teaching him well. Diving wee bas.......Lol

Your man dived for the build up to our goal and anyway what does Gary Neville know he talks more nonsense than Donald Trump.

He says Man Utd should carry on doing what they are doing and wait for Klopp and Pep to leave, then he says we can pounce and win the league.

Well that was a bit better from Spurs tonight. They've been such utter dogshit just lately, I'd almost forgotten what it's like to watch them dominate a game and get a well-deserved big win. Granted, the opposition was the weakest in their CL group, but you can only beat what's in front of you, and they did it well tonight. It should boost their confidence nicely ahead of the destruction they'll receive at the hands of Liverpool this weekend :-(

Yeah Gray, it's as simple as that! lol

I only saw the goals from the Spurs game but Red Star are truly shite on the road. They are very solid at home but awy they are a walking 3pts. Saying that I reckon it'll be another draw on Sunday as Pool decide their lead is too much and they prefer being second anyway.

Leicester just won 0-9 away from home

I took great pleasure from that following a mate who is a Saints fan telling me how **** Spurs are at the moment :)

And after everyone saying the bar for VAR to over turn a penalty decision was too high they have now removed the bar and decided that ANYTHING that the ref refers is a penalty. How Brighton got that pen against Everton I will never know. That just isn't a foul. It's an accidental coming together by two players.

Good game that, was expecting to lose but Spurs had a good go and Liverpool needed a penaty to win it. I thought Spurs were going to go down to 10 men when everyone seemed to want a yellow card despite being in front just before half time, but Poch must have told them all to grow up at half time. Son should have scored too, unlucky to hit the bar twice. So hopefully Spurs can now stop feeling sorry for themselves and get stuck in to some of the winnable games.

VAR is getting worse, it's spoiling goal celebrating. As soon as someone scores now I just have it in my head that it may be ruled out. So it's destroyed the best part of football in a way.

Agreed.

That penalty Brighton got against Everton was ridiculous. Yes he stands on his foot, accidentally not that that matters, but that is not a foul. If you're gonna start giving penalties for that every game will end 8-8.

The bar for VAR to over turn a decision has gone from stupidly higher to so low it's on the floor in the space of a week and without anyone being told.

I haven't seen the Utd game, but I have seen the Arsenal goal that was disallowed for a "foul" by chambers. How he fouls anyone as two Palace players tag team him and send him arse over **** I will never know.

Only solution seems to be VAR advise the ref to look at screen pitch side, but in the PL they are expressly advised NOT to do that. Which is very sensible.

Was a great game, so much better than Utd Pool. If Spurs had actually tried, like they did in last 15, it might have been a different out come. As it was at half time they were getting hammered 0-1 Lol.

Hopefully Jurgen will have realised that Lovern is dung and shud b nowhere near the team. Not as if that is news to any Liverpool fan, or anyone who has read any post I made on here in the last 4 yrs.
Is it too late to get Roma to pay 20m for him?

Yeah their was nothing wrong with the Arsenal goal, shocking really. We seem to be back debating decisions which VAR is suppose to have sorted out. The first Utd penalty was correct but the second was a joke, same as the PSG one in CL last season. Hand ball was given when the ball was blasted from about 3 yards.

Still haven't seen the Utd game but I heard the first pen wasn't a pen and the second was correct. Although the second was "correct" following the current hand ball interpretation. As you say, the same as the PSG game, ie NOT A ****ING PENALTY.

Football really needs to sort out handball as a shot blasted as someone from 4 yards away that hits their arm when they are trying to block it, is NOT a penalty nine times out of ten. ATM it's the other way round

You know that would have cost you the CL

This is the thing with VAR, no matter what happens spectators, managers, referees and players will all have differing views on certain decisions. The first penalty for me was a penalty, the defender got no where near the ball and obstructed Daniel James. The referee said no penalty and OGS said no penalty. But the chap looking at it over and over said penalty and over ruled the ref! I can see why the ref didn't give it, from one angle it looks like no penalty.

Nah Origi would still have saved us!

I've seen the Utd game now. I think the first pen is one of those, I can see why it was/wasn't given. Yer man doesn't get the ball, but at the same time the ball is going to the left of the screen and he comes in on the right, James changes his run so he hits the defender even though that means he moves away from the ball. Admittedly he isn't moving massively away from the ball but if he continues on his original path I don't know if he would have hit the defender. I guess it depends on what you interpret as causing the contact or the foul. Probably the kinda pen if you get you think you were a bit lucky to get it and if it goes against you, you are pissed.

Some game between Pool and Arsenal. So open. Both teams were shite. Defences all over the place and looked every bit the bunch of blokes who had met pre game that they were. Brilliant entertainment though.

What odds City draw Colchester or Oxford at the Emirates while Pool and Utd get each other or Leicester/Everton away.

Yeah some game, so City have got Oxford. Can't complain as a Man UTD fan though.

City, Utd and Liverpool in the semi's.

Anyone seen the Rashford goal? He could hit that shot another 100 times and it wouldn't go in.

Yup, YET ANOTHER CUSHY CUP DRAW FOR CITY
One, two or three you can understand but this has gone on for a few years now. It's getting ridiculous.

Heard Rashford's free kick was superb, haven't seen it yet, will try to dig it out on Twitter.

I see Jurgen has pointed out that the Quarter finals are scheduled a day before Liverpool are due to play in that World Club Waste of time Who Gives a **** Cup. Surprisingly enough Pool won't be able to play on a Tuesday night in Brum and then be in Qatar ready to play a semi final 12 odd hours later. Some genius planning there. Given they have CL taking up midweeks and a PL game to reschedule (cos of the WCC) feck knows when they fit it in. Apparently Liverpool's first free midweek is the week the semi's are due to be played.
I doubt the FA or the sponsors want Liverpool to play a full team of kids. Last night's team was young but the likes of Milner, Lallana, Gomez, Origi and Keita will all be away in Qatar. Take them out and add in five even younger kids and suddenly the game becomes a farce.

That WCC is always a stitch up, why is it never played in Europe? Whats it going to be like for the 2022 World Cup, its in December!!!

I would assume FIFA will move it. It's their baby and their World Cup. Pick the most awkward time of year and they will play it then.

I looked it up, from 2021 it will be in the summer and every 4 years, with 24 teams. First round 8 groups of 3 with top 2 from each group progressing to quarter finals.
