CL draw tonight. 6pm BST, so the draw will probably be made some time about midnight after UEFA drag it out and drag it out and drag it out. God knows we all love seeing all the stupid montages they show and listening to all the shite the presenters talk. We definitely wouldn't rather they just got on with the ****ing draw and then pissed off! :roll:

On that note, I'm gonna play a game this year, let's see how many of the groups we can predict.
I'll do it in a new thread to save clogging this one up but will put a link in here later. All you have to do is predict the two teams that qualify from each CL group (it doesn't matter about the order). It should be fairly easy, given the CL is all about keeping the big sides in. I suspect most of us will get 13-14 easily.

I don't often enjoy watching a North London derby and today was no exception. It's so frustrating that Spurs always seem to lose the psychological battle at The Emirates - they've been the better team for a few seasons, there's no player in Arsenal's squad I would want in ours, and they're 2-0 up, yet still looked like a bag of nerves. That's why Spurs have such a bad record in these matches, sure they were the underdog for many years and that clearly has an effect but those days are long gone, they need the confidence to go in to these games knowing they are the better side, which they did brilliantly for the first half hour. Can't complain about the final result but it's frustrating to see again and again.

Agreed. They could and should have been more than 2 goals up with all the chances they had, but a failure to put them away and an infuriatingly typical habit of starting to play like the game is already over, when in fact more than half of it is still left to play, just because they have the lead, and it cost them dearly. Arsenal came back well, but Spurs can only blame themselves for taking their foot off the petrol (I refuse to call petroleum 'gasoline' ;-))... Oh, and Sissokrap was shite.

How many times can Sissoko sky a clear chance before he is dropped? Surely any professional footballer should be able to get a shot on target occasionally! It's mind boggling, he's worse than Soldado and that's saying something!

He's worse than Stephen Hawking! At least with him the ball might have ricocheted off his wheelchair / coffin and gone in. The instant a chance falls to Sissokrap, I know the opportunity has gone. You'd think by the law of monkeys and typewriters at least one effort would go vaguely near the target, but instead when he strikes the ball the crew of the ISS go on high alert.

When he missed that chance I instantly thought back to the sitter he missed at Anfield just before Pool scored their winner.
I don't think he was Spurs worst player. Yer boy at RB was woeful all day. Granted he isn't a RB but he was all over the shop. Saying that I didn't think Spurs created a huge amount, it was more Arsenal shooting themselves in the foot and handing Spurs two goals on a plate. I have never been convinced by Leno and that **** up for the opener just hammered a nail in his coffin, for me. As for Xhaka, the guy is a liability. He's not a defensive midfielder as he cant tackle for shite and has no positional discipline. He's not a goal scoring midfielder as ehhh he doesn't score many goals. He's not a 'play maker' as his passing is no better (or worse) than half a dozen others in that side. So ehhh WTF is he and why is he still getting games!?

I think that game showed Arsenal up for what many of us have been calling them for a while. A club with a CL standard forward line and a Championship standard back line. They won't win anything or even challenge for much unless they fix the latter.

As for Spurs. If i was a Spurs fan I would be ripping my hair out at their inconsistency. And it's inconsistency within a game as well, not just from week to week. I also suspect that squad needs a little more reinforcing, but granted they do have injuries.

Either way, it looks like the top two are a miles ahead already. A two horse race with 4 teams fighting it out for the remaining CL spots. How exciting.
