Ok I will start the ball rolling (sadly) -

I am pretty dam sure this is a poon trooper in an already abortion'd card & so it starts :|

Yup, jediretrocards and what's he called, costablancastarwars, they both do the exact same thing.

Oh dear, it does look like a Poon trooper and no mention that it is custom. These are going to start circulating in the market place :(

TBH Todd I am not convinced he did make them, I think he tried to cash in on them & it all blew up in his face big time, but either way a big mistake as he had a good little thing going with his Fett's till this episode & now he has no cred & egg all over his face

Bloody poor show then m8, I am on a good one though as I won one of the 2 packs on ebay & keep getting them to send me replacements as they keep turning up with damaged card backs, got 3 off them so far & should have a 4th on the way & with luck this time in a box, only ordered one so I could neg them & now have 6 figures for a fiver & with luck will have 8, I am sure my 7 year old will be stoked on his birthday  so at least I have cashed in on the fiasco & put the sellers out of pocket 8)

Nobody seems to care that he made these anymore.............so I gave up.

I think a lot of people care. I must admit I was a bit surprised at some of the responses on Rebelscum.

I also think that a lot of people don't want to live up to the consequences of their previous actions of buying what they considered harmless customs off Poon.

When this whole thing started I must admit it made me start to reevaluate collecting vintage Star Wars. Fakes and customs are only going to get better :(

Folks do care about these,, especially when all you collect are imperials.
I do have to state that i got a twin pack from the nice chinese people so i could have a comparison trooper .
Mainly as i couldnt tell from the origional from the photos,, and sure enough after carefully examining there is not much difference.

For example if you grubbied up a few and stuffed em in a lot , 95% of collectors would not spot them.

But for now i avoid anything white, flawless and too good to be true.

Either way the numbnuts on RS seem to love them.. ohhh bootlegs.

A bootleg is made at the time and is obviously such,, like my cassette version of "public enemy- fear of a black planet" - a fake is deliberatly good enough to decieve and can be made at anytime.

would someone mind giving a bit of background as to what this is all about?
what is a 'poon', and how do you tell.

many thanks,
the resident thicko

Haha- im hardly ever on RS.

Now i undersatand the outrage.

Thanks for the RS Links. 8)

What has happened to the Poon?

cheers tundra.
let me just quantify my understanding;
there is a chap called marc poon, who makes copies of figures and sells them as authentic?

how, when these come up, do you tell? i for one would be well sucked in!

Frank posted some pics on their difference/lack of it on here somewhere, can't find it at the moment, will have another look.
Here's another poon thread: http://starwarsforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=10889

doesn't look like he going to win collector of the year!
do you think he does commissions? i'm after a lego deathstar

Here's how to spot a poon -

If you look at the 2 posted on the first page (the 2 carded ones) you will also see that the legs are in a very distinct position & one of the feet is slightly smaller.

Goodness only knows what will be next
