I think we're in serious trouble now. Kane, Winks and Sissoko injured from the first team, Lamella injured so no firepower on the bench, Son banned from the next CL match, and Alli seemed a bit scared last night because of his broken hand. I can see us losing to Ajax and not making the top 4 with that many players out, I expect City will get their payback on Saturday which leaves us relying on other teams to lose to make the top 4.

BUT it was all worth it just to watch (and win) that game

Hopefully Poch plays a flat back 9 with Llorente up front on his own on Saturday and you nick a draw.
That Ajax team are GOOD! But, the Dutch league isn't great and I suspect Ajax will run out of momentum soon. Though Momentum can take you all the way (Pool 05, Monaco and Porto making the final) it can also run out (Roma in last year's semi final having produced an amazing comeback to beat Barca in the quarters).

I suspect Sat will go one of two ways. Either City get angry/ Spurs are still celebrating and City win 5-0, or Spurs are so buoyed by it and City so deflated that Spurs get a point or more. Sadly, my money is on the first one.

I think City will beat Spurs, they beat them last night on the night and will do it again. Looking at the fixtures though, I really think Liverpool are going to do it. I'm just counting on Messi to knock them out of the CL!!!

Where do you see City dropping points though? They have two tricky games left in Spuds and
Utd. Given the events during the week I expect them to hump spuds and utd are stinking ATM. After that City probably have an easier final three games than Pool.
If City are top after their next two games they will win it. Especially now they don't have any distractions from CL.


Good result for Arsenal last night. They made a solid Napoli side look average. All English EL final is still on. It'll be great for a neutral if both sides miss out on CL and have the EL or bust.

Can't complain about yesterday's result, you know you're doing something right when Manchester City are cowering in the corner and rolling around with fake injures in the 90th minute at home. Shame on the ref for not extending injury time despite City wasting most of it, the boos went on for about 10 minutes after the game ended. Spurs also definitely should have had a penalty, roll on VAR next season. Looks like 4th is our best hope now this season unless somebody else slips up.

Brighton seem to be doing their best to get relegated, Cardiff have a pretty decent chance of staying up if they can win just one or two games.

City aren't playing that well at all IMO, Liverpool are certainly the form team out of the two. City seem to be grinding results out, where as Liverpool are turning teams over in the first 30 minutes.

City defended well, but Spurs could very easily have drawn that game, and probably deserved to, not that that counts for anything of course. On another day, Son would have stuck away at least one of his chances. Still, only one goal difference 'point' dropped, so the damage was minimised.

As for where we'll finish, if they continue to remember how to play, they have 4 'easy' games left, three of which are at home. They SHOULD win them all (yes, yes, I know, it's Spurs!), and if they do, I think they'll get 3rd. I can't see Arsenal not dropping a single point in their remaining games when 3 of them are away from home (including Leicester a very tricky trip to Wolves), and their away form has been so poor this season.

Time will tell!

Nope. Can't happen. If those events do happen whoever finishes fourth drops into the EL. UEFA won't allow more than 5 sides in CL from one country.

I missed the Utd game today, i heard it on SHOUTSport driving home, it sounds like they were properly woeful. Questions still to be answered regarding whether Ole is really the right man. After the 'thank **** Jose is gone' effect wore off Utd have looked poor, bar 1 nite/fluke in Paris. But that is a squad full of dead wood and one individual more concerned about his social media than justifying a 90m peice tag.
Gonna take a lot for Utd to turn that form round for wednesday night. Play like they did today and it could be double figures.m


I did see City Spuds. Not a classic. Spuds missed 4 or 5 decent chances, but City had a couple as well. Very much an 'after the lord mayors show' game.

As for Arsenal losing at Palace, no one wants, and certainly no one deserves, that last CL spot.

Today highlighted not only United's current problem, but their problem for the last five years. As I've said before they simply do not deserve to be any higher in the table than they are now, it's not because they don't have talented players or huge resources, they just don't care enough as a team. You can only blame the managers and the owners so much if the players are putting in a 50% shift every week. I wouldn't want Pogba anywhere near Spurs, his attitude stinks. I'd take a team like Wolves with no superstars but top marks for effort over a team full of 'stars' that don't care every day of the week. It's no secret how Fergie made the best team in the world, he DEMANDED 100% from his players.

We will see next season, your probably right but they completely overhauled their sqaud last summer and you get the feeling they are starting to gel. They have beaten Arsenal Chelsea and Man Utd at home in the last month and drew with Liverpool all without conceading a goal.

True, but the Board were supposedly considering Silva's position a few months ago.
I guess Fergy was in the same position before mark Robins saved him all those years ago, and he went on to do ok at Utd, but I'm not sure football is the same as it was in the early 90's.

Nice to see Spurs continue their winning start at their new ground with a deserved win over an ultra negative Brighton, who were effectively playing with a back 10. Spurs still made heavy going of it and once again were FAR too pedestrian in moving the ball forward, timidly passing the ball from side to side instead of running forward with it and trying to put dangerous balls into the box. Having said that, Brighton deserved nothing from the game and got precisely that after Eriksen's superb long-range late strike secured the points for Tottenham.
