Yeah, I said something along those lines to a Utd supporting mate. Spuds always seem to get the **** end of the stick when it comes to CL draws.

Interesting ties, can see Barcelona v Liverpool and Juventus v Man City semis then Man City v Barcelona final??? Going to be very entertaining.

That would be a good final, though obviously I hope Pool make it there instead.

So the proper football is back this weekend, anybody dare to predict Sunday's Liverpool v Spurs game? There is so much riding on it for both teams, if Liverpool lose City will win the PL title and if Spurs lose they will not make the top 4, I am pretty sure of both those predictions. Based on recent form Liverpool are the obvious favourites, but anything can happen.

I would happily accept a draw to put us 'only' one point behind Arsenal. What absolutely cannot happen is a 6-0 hammering as goal difference is our only saving grace at the moment, it could come down to that at the end of the season. I'd rather watch us lose 1-0 this weekend with 10 players permanently in the penalty area than one of Poch's famous 5+ goal 'heroic' thrashings where he forgets to put any defenders on the pitch.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Utd all surely have gimmes this weekend, although that's what I thought about Spurs v Southampton a couple of weeks ago.

Not really. But I could see a draw with both teams slitting each others throats, so to speak.

I suspect City will win it regardless of the result on Sunday, but I take your point that defeat for Pool will all but hand the title to City

On recent league form, you'd have to say Liverpool are clear favourites. If you're charitable, I suppose you might say that that fact could add a little extra pressure on them and take a little off Spurs, but the smart money would still be on a Liverpool win, IMHO. Having said that, the only saving grace for Spurs might be the fact that they do tend to raise their game when playing against the better sides (a shame they couldn't have done that against some of the supposedly lesser teams that they've lost to recently), so perhaps it might be a closer match than some people think :?

I agree, Liverpool will win by a couple of goals I reckon. It's at Anfield, Spurs have got one eye on the CL now.

I'm usually wrong though.

Utd appoint Solskjaer full time! Good choice but strange timing IMO, what's changed since the last time they played a match 2 weeks ago?

I think it's a good time. Utd's form has started to dip and the last performance was appalling! Hopefully this will give the players a boost for the run in. :?

Not sure in the long term if he's the man for the job. But then again I really don't know who is, so he may as well have a go!

That's what I mean, the time to have done it would have been during their great winning streak. Starting off on the back foot isn't great for him.

**** me we were **** last night. It was on BT and I was looking forward to it all day. And Wolves and Watford had lost! Cracked open a beer, then watched an absolute shower of ****. They looked like they just got out of bed. ****ing crap. If we'd won we'd be 7th but now we're 11th. Sorry rant over :D

I knew I should have put an accumulator on this weekend. That's the second time all six top 6 teams APART from Spurs have won in a month. The odds of that are hundreds to one. But of course Spurs can manage it. If Sissoko and Rose are not replaced next season, I'm not watching any more games. If me, a ****ing web developer can see what the manager can't, there is no point watching them play. Can't complain with the result, just the way we lost it. And if Poch had any clue what he was doing, we wouldn't have had to win this game because we'd have a nice buffer. Now we're Going to finish sixth, something else that looked statistically impossible a month ago. I need to start betting against Spurs, I'd make a fortune!

I feel for you Rob, hate it when you look forward to a game that's live on TV that you know you can watch and then your team play crap and lose.

I new Spurs would bend over for Liverpool today, when their was 10 minutes to go and it was 1-1.

The Chelsea game was a joke, Cardiff were done!

That's what was so annoying, with ten minutes left it was Liverpool who were bending over and were about to throw it away, Spurs should have won it, no question. I'm sick of Pochettino banging on about how well they are doing and that they played well, there are players in the team who are not good enough, it's as simple as that. I don't care if Sissoko is good at tackling and running with the ball, a midfielder who cannot shoot is literally worthless. De Bruyne would have scored that one on one, Hazard would, Lampard would, in fact I'm pretty sure Lloris could have scored it. The premier league top six is not the place for a player who is quite good or has potential, we need somebody better than this:

I also think Poch needs to be held to account, based on the last five games form we would be 19th, any other PL manager would have been sacked after this run, the only team with a worse record is Fulham:

Nothing to do with Spurs Edd, but what's really interesting about that table is how rare draws are. Whether you are Liverpool or Huddersfield everyone has fewer than 10 draws. If you exclude City, thats between 4 and 9 - clearly the Premisership is not the place for teams that like to play safe.

Yes that's a good observation and a real gripe of mine with Spurs, if just three or four of those losses had been draws, we would have that buffer I mentioned above. Playing to win in every game is foolish, the only way you are going to beat a team like City or Liverpool is if they have a bad day, but you can't predict that before the match kicks off so putting three defenders on the pitch against the top side is unforgivably reckless IMO.

And when Spurs miss out on the top four by one point like they have in countless other seasons, I don't want Poch to think about the losses to Liverpool and City, I want him to remember the losses to Burnley and Southampton, or Newcastle three seasons ago, which could have been comfortable draws if the greedy twat had not taken defenders off the pitch and replaced them with more strikers than anybody can manage. This is not a bad spell, it happens time and time again.

That's shocking from Spurs, didn't realise they have gone 5 games without a win. At least they have a nice new stadium.

It's quite incredible that we're still in third after dropping 14 points!

Yeah but it's Newcastle........

Arsenal win will knock Man Utd out of top 4 but not Spurs.
