PL 2015-16 Chat

I don't know if we can use the Chelsea V. Man-C game as a measuring stick in regard's to Chelsea's form due to the fact ever since the new Man-C managers announcement they've started to fall apart... Plus their second choice goalkeeper was shocking

It's more that they've lost to Leicester, Spurs and now Chelsea in just a few weeks, not based on that one result. A title winning team needs to be able to beat the other leaders, not just sweep aside the mid-low table teams.

What do you make of Chelsea's thrashing of Man City yesterday? I think making up 14 points in 12 games is too much of an ask, but I can see them finishing 5th or 6th. And City have now lost to pretty much every top half (or should be top half) team this season, so I think they're now out of the title race. They might return to dominance next season under Guardiola, but I think their and Chelsea's unusually poor form has given Leicester, Arsenal and Spurs a real chance at a shock league title. It's down to them all to screw it up now.

Shame Spurs are out of the FA Cup but it was just one of those games, didn't really do anything wrong and could easily have won. Not sure how Alli's shot managed to hit both posts without going in. And it will probably give them a better shot at the PL title too. I bet Arsenal are gutted they have an FA Cup replay, I said before the game I would prefer to lose than have a replay.

Totally agree on all points and I appear to be equally 'happy' to see Spurs have one less run of fixtures to contend with. The league and subsequent Champions League qualification needs to be the priority. Arsenal can't be happy with a replay, but I get the feeling they'll play a slightly stronger team walk the second leg...

I may be shouted down, but yesterday's game to my eyes was crying out for Spurs to have a back-up striker on the bench to come on and change the game; if only one were bought in Jan(?)... but who can you buy in Jan?
Son and Chadli are showing that they really can be great and have done exceptionally this season, but I would like to think next year they'll be wingers/attacking midfield and there will be another striking option on the bench, most especially as Kane looked knackered in the last 25mins!

Missed all the FAC games yesteray, currently in Portugal, but I agree that Spurs really do need a decent back up striker. Or someone to cover for Kane when he's injured. That's the glaring weakness in their squad. Still could be worse, you could have Liverpool's squad.

So, if you **** up 80% of your final balls and hit the few decent chances you get straight at Ter Stegen, you lose to Barcelona. Who would thought that!?

Bastard

Arsene talking his usual nonsense on BBC Sport: "The regret I had was once we looked like we dominated the game, we give the goal away." What, dominated the game with your 34% possession? The only place you came close was fouls

Its a rarified environment where the Arsenal fan is in the minority compared Spurs fans, let us enjoy our fleeting moment! Almost everyone I know, even my brother and my boss is a Gooner!

It's true, I lived in Camden for 5 years and couldn't believe how overwhelming the local Arsenal support was, even as far up as Seven Sisters Road which is practically in Tottenham! You had to stand outside the stadium to see any Spurs fans  I guess their good spell in the late 90s/early 00s bore a swathe of glory supporters.

**** me Arsenal that was pathetic. Absolutely ****ing pathetic. Playing against a very mediocre Utd side, who have half dozen first teamers out, low confidence and a manager who is border line incompetent and Arsenal turn up supposedly pushing for the title and put in the most insipid, pathetic, half hearted performance i've seen since I last watched Villa.
They'll never get a better chance to beat Utd at OT, and they didnt even try. They just folded.

I feel so sorry for Arsenal fans, it's the same **** every year. They get close threaten to do something and then throw it away/fold/choke. Every single year. As the saying goes, it's the hope that kills you. At least (sane) Liverpool fans know they are **** and they won't win anything meaningful, but Arsenal fans get led on very single year. Then when the CL knock out rounds start, Arsenal's season implodes.

Time to go Mr Wenger. Beautiful football is all fine and good but too often your teams have come up short when it matters most, no excuses, we know where the blame lies.

As a neutral i'm just so disappointed in Arsenal.

HOW are Liverpool still in this? City should have been 3 or 4 up before Liverpool scored and then they should have had another 2.

Sterling has been Liverpool's best player by a mile.

Firminio, learn the ****ing offside rule sunshine.

Piss poor. Walcott, Ox, Giroud, Kos, Merte need to be shipped out. Wenger needs to retire too. If we win the title it'll be by default
Do you think we're just saving a huge transfer kitty for the season he retires? Get by and make do for another season then really go for it, no idea who under mind you.

No. I think we he goes he'll go upstairs. It would be a huge slap in the face for him. I really don't know where the money goes. I know a lot of the players were paid silly wages but I believe that had settled now

On the wages front there has got to be better ways to spend the 10 million quid a year it costs us to keep Wilshere and Walcott surely
