Seconded. I need someone to talk to about football.

Added to my raft of leagues... join enough of them, might get close to the top half of one I guess!

This one is quality Steve - key is to remember to submit every week !

Iain I've thought of another business opportunity for you, please can you stream all the PL games to us guys? I'm sure they are all free on some hillbilly channel over there

haha - hillbilly TV - I love it - you are right though - loads of free Premiership on over here - not sure about streaming it - but I can set my SKYPE up in front of it!

Hilarious idea... you'll have multiple subscribers before you know it!

Isn't it ****ed up that we live in a world where NFL is free on Channel 4 over here, and the 3pm PL games are free in practically every other country and not shown at all here. I long for the day a company like Apple or Amazon buy the rights, and tell these old satellite companies to f**k off.

I guess that is the main reason it is free though - to try an drum up more business so eventually they can charge. I would imagine that if Amazon or Apple got hold of it then they would do the same. I have no idea what they charge pubs and clubs these days for subscription but 5 years ago it was around 10,000GBP per year and imagine it is far more than that now - there is so much money to be made with advertising etc which is why Sky pay ridiculous amounts and therefore charge accoringingly

I have absolutely no problem paying to watch the games, it's the fact we can't get the 3pm games here that pisses me off royally! They have no idea how much cash they're missing out on. I use Now TV to watch the Sky Sports games, costs £7 per match. Would happily pay the same to watch the 3pm and BT Sports games, instead I have no choice but to stream them illegally.

I believe that the reason they can't show 3pm games is to maintain attendances at the smaller clubs - not sure how true this is but I guess if a tasty Prem League game was on TV then it might stop a few York City fans traveling down to Plymouth !

Yeah I think that was the original logic behind it 50+ years ago when TV was first introduced, but in the 21st century they can't stop people watching the 3pm games online, so all they're doing is forcing people to watch it illegally by not offering it legally. In fact wasn't there a pub in Portsmouth that won a court case with Sky for showing 3pm games via a legal Greek satellite channel?

It's the same as the film and music industries, rather than trying to sue people who want to stream things, they need to offer a legal alternative.

It's an interesting read, I don't see how Sky's offering is anything other than denying competition or price fixing which is illegal in almost every other industry.
