have you got details of where the payments have been made to - were they purchases or money sent to other people - you can google/Facebook search those people and also check out the email addresses - if they have been sent to companies then you should contact those companies and advise that these are fraudulent transactions - if they are payment for physical goods then maybe they can be put on hold

Yeah - that is probably gone mate - people have sent money to a betting account - used it and then withdrawn it into another account or used it to 'lay-off' their bets placed in a different account

If you have no track record of using PayPal for gambling and they can see that a different ISP address was used to make the payments then hopefully PayPal will give you your money back - but don't expect them to be speedy about it

If the payments are linked to a credit card then you can claim though them as well

Edit - looks like this is more of a gaming site rather than a gambling site - there is a forum - might be worth logging on and explaining that someone has used your account illegally -http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/

I think you'll get the refunds fine on this Chris although they'll probably say something like here's a refund of the money which is a 'loan' until all avenues have been exhausted.

sorry can't say more I'm off to steam to play ZX Spectrum greatest 80s collection.

Is the card a VISA debit or credit card? ignore what the bank say they have to refund you if its fraud. doesnt matter who took it out of your account, they just want to pass the buck, see what PP do first then chase the bank for it.

Also remove your bank account from paypal and just link a credit card instead, double protection :)

I had the exact same thing happen a few years back. Was very stressful but after arguing with paypal and bank for ages, it got sorted. Hope you manage to bud.
