Paypal - Bank issue.

Anyone ever experienced this - I'm spending money on ebay (as per usual) which obviously is done via paypal which in turn takes money fro your bank account. However, since Saturday no money has come out of my bank account. I've spent several hundred £s over 6 or 7 purchases from saturday to today and yet not a penny has come out of my account. It's very frustrating as i have no idea how much is gonna come out and indeed how much i have left and i have other bills to settle but can't until paypal takes money out of my account.
Usually the money comes out straight away tho i have experienced this once before and the last time when the money came out of my bank i had spent more than i had and went overdrawn which i got charged for.
Anyone have any idea why this is happening and is there anything i can do about it? Is this a paypal issue or a bank issue?

That sounds a bit weird, when I use paypal, it draws from my bank immediately, but the total of what I use
comes back to my bank account 4-5 days after purchase though, and gets deducted 2 days after that again....

I do a large amount of trading through ebay/paypal. It often depends on the source that they take the money from as to how quickly it shows up in your bank. If they take it from a debit/credit card then it shows up start away. If they do it as a bank transfer then it normally takes up 2 days to show in your bank and does not debit until that day. I normally run a spreadsheet so I know what has been spent and what is due out.

If you bank with HSBC then you get away with transferring the funds in the day that the money comes out - providing you do it before 3:30pm and call to tell them you have done it. I am sure other banks work this way as well.

It's all through my debit card. 4 days and still no money taken out. Very annoying. :x

That is weird - because if they take it from your card it should show up instantly.

I wonder if they took it from your bank instead - all my paypal transactions for the weekend are showing as coming out tomorrow.

If you have internet banking then you can have a look at pending transactions with some banks

Yeah i have internet banking. Been checking it twice daily since saturday to see if anything's been taken out.
I'll check for that option now.

Sometimes if they think it is more transactions than normal...they put a hold on it in the event someone stole your card.

Hmm, i suppose that could be it.
Thing is i have premier paypal account as i spend around 500 a month and have been for the last 3 months so it shouldn't have suddenly stalled. Nothing has been different this month to last.

Sounds normal to me, what bank are you with? I'm with Lloyds and 'instant bank transfers' often take several days to a week to come out. I love the way they try and tell you it's a benefit, when really it takes just as long as debit/credit cards. It just saves them money.
