It would be great to see at least one of the 3 sites excavated, the undisclosed farmers field is the one I think would be the goldmine as the tip dumps would have been scavenged fairly well by the locals IMO, I used to live in Leicester & have heard many a story from those in the know about the dumping, I'm convinced there is indeed a treasure trove still out there just waiting the be found & unearthed

Surely everything would be in pretty bad shape that has been buried for 40 years?

Based on the Atari video games that were excavated, the cardboard and paper is still identifiable but certainly not in good shape. The plastic however has barely degraded at all, and should clean up like new practically. I think it's more of an interesting dig than a realistic chance of unearthing gradeworthy toys though!
