Palitoy ESB X-wing

hi,

Saw this one sell last night. And although a pretty sweet box, it was also just a box... Probably a rare variation or hard to find in this condition? Or what did I miss? Is this version particularly different to find?

I always thought the early ESB palitoy version was the most sought after, maybe I was wrong?

I have to just say that rule is a complete waste of time when you can post live links in the eBay section, which surely is the same thing once the auction has ended? Just my opinion and apologise, honestly did not realise it wasn't 7 days.

V tough to find that box in that kind of condition so not surprised by the winning bid :!:
Yes out of the BD and first issue Empire the first issue is more desirable. But don't dismiss the Empire BD :!: Finding that Palitoy example in great condition is v tough let alone unused condition :!:

Ok so really confused.... easily done I know lol, so I picked up esb bd palitoy boxed x wing with inserts , from the pics in the listing it's not quite as good but to my eye not bad... didn't pay any way close to this.... did i get a bargain for once??? To be honest I'm lost on vehicles just bought it because it looked cool lol

I would have to c detailed pics of ur piece and know the price to determine whether or not u have got a bargain :!:
You c without meaning to b rude u have indicated ur not experienced with the boxed stuff so when u say the box looks OK to u there could b issues with the box that may not seem significant to u that would bring the desirability and therefore value right down. There could b restoration to the box ie black marker pen touch up which u could have missed if ur not looking for it. Now I am not saying there is but just the inexperienced eye would prob miss it :!: I guess it is all about whether the box is in average round of the mill condition or whether it is in outstanding condition from the others to make it v sought after.

But hey :!: U say u don't get bargains so maybe it was ur turn to get one And it is nice u got the inserts, that certainly makes a diff 8)

No offence taken... Will try and upload some pics, I'm pretty sure what I think looks good to the experienced eye is probably not.. I.e battered corners...

But was happy with the £50 I paid a while back
I guess this really sits in the valuation thread... argh too much tech know how needed :lol:
