PaliToy was what Kenner released them as in the UK probably. I had quite a few as a kid. I was normal though, Mine were ripped straight from the packets and played with.

I sold some for my son a few years ago along with a few of the huge models, AtAt etc. None of them had been played with but they had been opened and put on display. I still have some left, I'll have to take a look and put them on eBay if they are popular again.

Man, I wish I had two of everything when I was a kid - one to play with and one to save!!!! BUT, sadly, parents didn't see the possible worth of such things back then and tossed them to make room for other things.....

Toys are made to be played with. Those who buy them to keep in the plastic wrap, usually grow up to become serial killers. Fact!

In a few decades all these curios from the past will just be worthless junk, as popular culture will have moved on. Think hard before shelling out good money on anything that isn't a genuine antique or has intrinsic value. Why do you think he's selling? - He's not as stupid as his haircut might suggest!

But there are some very sad people who replicate the original packaging so you can put the loose figure inside, glue it up and then pretend you have the real thing. Bonkers.

Loose figures, £1-£5 depending on condition (not including p&p). Last 16, £20+. Might get more for the ships if they're in good nick or boxed.

Good for him. My son sold his star wars collection, figures and millenium falcon at-at snowspeeder ewok village x and a wing fighters etc. for £100 just before interest in Star Wars reignited. Thats thecway it goes. Lucky man well done . I woukd rather have £18000 than an unopened and unplayed with Boba Fett. Hopefully the buyer will enjoy it

You can pick up a mint on card Boba Fett from 1980 for a few hundred. The reason this one is so valuable is that it's on a Palitoy card. Palitoy cards were only sold in the UK and in smaller numbers than the US.

Such things were made to be used. I'm a believer in buying something designed for a purpose, not simply being put in a cabinet to be looked at. Same goes for the idea of buying a super-car only to put it in a garage so it can be sold years later for more money.

Soon I'll be putting my original Star Wars light saber up for auction. It consists of a fairly straight stick I found in the woods, covered in aluminum foil. My brother and I made them the afternoon we saw the movie, back in '77. We then spent the next month or so beating each other senseless with them. Shall we start the bidding at $10,000...?
