painted gamorrean axe

i just got an gamorrean axe that seems to be silver with brown painted handle.
when i "write" hard with it some paint is seen on the paper.
its pretty flexible and seems quite good otherwise.
cant show any pictures of it.
must it be a repro or can this be done with originals?

it really looks like the macau axe,which is very fitting since it came with a macau guard.
it can be a frustrating hobby,but by golly i love it
