Overpriced vintage toys !

My parents on holiday in northern England found a shop selling vintage Carded figures and boxed ships.

Was a bit excited when my dad called. My happiness fell as soon as he told me the prices.

Turret and probot damaged box 100 pounds
Lumat 79 back.80 pounds
Gammorean guard 65 back.70 pounds
Weequay 77 back 70 pounds
Klatuu 65 back 70 pounds

Looks like he's asking double value !

I'm after a Carded Lumat so have asked if he'll go down to 40 quid. I think that is reasonable. I'm not too optimistic.

Shops have larger overheads than sellers online therefore you will nearly always pay a premium.

There is a lovely Vintage Toy Shop in Warwick that I visit every now and again, nice to look at all the vintage toys including Star Wars MOC'S, loose figures etc but expensive.

At the end of the day Capt the stuff is alot harder to find over here compared to in the US. I shudder sometimes at the cheapness of vintage that nob on toyhunter pays the sellers and even the selling price he asks for i would snap his hand off sometimes!

There's a shop in Filey, north east coast, that I stumbled across. Had a decent selection of vintage and was only slightly overpriced.
Just nice to see vintage on the shelves!

Don't bother mate the guy is deluded!
I was laughing at his prices scruffy as **** loose with the wrong weapons for silly money in little see through sweet bags!
He handed me a piece of paper with some site scribbled on it and said (That's where they all look) I gave it back to him and said I'm ok for junk Mate!

That's my issue with the place. I don't actually mind the over-charging. It's central/north london and you have to pay for the stall and you're hoping to get a lot of tourists in who will spend a bit extra than us discerning *cough* collectors. But it's the quality of the stuff that really bugs me. It's just ****ing laziness and half-arsed(ness). It's not difficult to find good quality decent vintage toys and a low price if you put just a little time and effort in but he clearly just can't be bothered and that gets up my nose.
