Orange hair Luke

I know what I would be willing to pay for it. But I don't know if that would meet your expectations.

Tbh not sure myself, in my opinion the Luke DT comand the money and you see them for sale all the time. But orange hair Luke's well I've only seen 3 all year.
So who knows?

Are these still popular? About 3-4 years ago they were all the rage, most sold for about $500 or so but I think a few AFA graded ones went over (think even as high as $1K when things were really silly).

I haven't seen many for sale in the last few years nor anyone actually looking for one, I wonder if this was one of the casualties of the variant craze dying down?

There were no orange hair for sale in public in the last two years apart from one on eBay who wanted around 1.100$ which I sadly passed.
Any info on how much could possibly be produced at all?

That's interesting to know that you've not seen one either. How often do you search for one?

A couple of years ago there was some guesswork done based on the loose examples that members of RS owned and I think most people agreed that at that point there were probably 30-40 loose examples out there. Back then there were only 3 or 4 carded ones documented too. (One of which was actually a QC sign off funny enough)

The US Orange haired figure was only released on the Kenner 41E card but I'm pretty sure that not all 41E's carried this variant. It's highly likely the colour was picked up on at some point and quickly changed back to the intended brown which of course resulted in a hard to find colour variant all these years later.

There might have been more turn up since then but hopefully that helps a bit.

I was searching the bay and usual forums like this one, RS, Lichtgeschwindigkeit.de, TIG, that Spanish forum I forgot the name of and some others. Without luck though.

This post of yours helps a lot. And explains a lot regarding the price. I really hope to catch one some day.

I agree with Joe that the popularity around these died and i guess that most who wanted one have it and keep it in their collection (and if they come for sale again, it will be at the prices they paid, because nobody likes to take a loss).

But as for as i see, the craze for these is largely over.

I still feel that you have a better chance of getting one in a lot if you check ebay often enough, much like DT Luke's really. I know several of the Orange haired Luke's that appeared a couple of years ago just randomly turned up in large figure lots on ebay.com and the more you look the more you find.

Personally, I'd rather spend a year looking through hundreds of lots and taking a few chances (within reason) than paying $1k on a loose figure! As long as you can roughly get your money back on figure lots you have nothing to lose really (although these days I probably wouldn't risk dealing with that many ebay sellers if I could avoid it lol!)

i agree with Joe, i got mine in a job lot i bought and someone had actually painted his hair brown, after i scraped it off it revealed the ginner underneath
