Have a very nice complete boxed ESB Slave 1. The peeling stickers do nag me a bit though. Whats the general consensus on replacing them with repros.
I would imagine this is a vintage faux pas, just wondered if anyone has ever done this though.

Don't do it dude.
Make do and don't mend. Keep an eye out for a better one in the future and upgrade.
Repro is repro mate.
I have 2 repro items in my collection (VCJ and Luke stormie blaster) and i hate it. I'll be replacing them as soon as i can.

Some things are best left as is;
My shuttle has an internal sticker on the outside and the wing guns are upside down (built by an incompetent and eager Dad in 1983 no doubt), i've decided to leave it as it is as it carries more nostalgia for me and adds character.

Worry not I'm not going to do it. Just wondered if anyone else had or maybe they''re too ashamed to do it

I don't think it's about being ashamed - to me it is just sensible.

The problem that you have as soon as repro sticker is applied is that the ship can no longer be classified as a genuine vintage item. As the item is yours you can do what the hell you like with it, however the problem comes when you want to sell up or upgrade - you then need to inform the buyer exactly what he is getting and hope that he too is a stand up fella and will do the same when he moves it on

Also, God forbid something were to happen to you then if a family member or a friend tries to sell your stuff then they will not know what is vintage and what is not and will pass it on into the community.

For me there are 100's of decent vehicles and ships out there. If you aren't happy with the one you have then upgrade - generally if you sell your one and buy a better one then the difference in cost is not huge

your collection do what you want although in my opinion it does cheapen ships if you use them, i was considering getting x-wing stickers but im giving it a miss now, the dirty torn stickers adds characte plus you knows its been played with and loved at some point
