The original trilogy is the best thing since sliced bread. You should be ashamed with yourself saying that about Star Wars.

Cheers.

Grant.

ROTJ tomorrow. My least favourite of the 3 originals but still excellent to watch.
i wonder if they will be putting the 3 newer films on after the old ones.

Cheers.

Grant. :D

I must admit I am with Grant on this!
These films are great, they remind me of my childhood, they have some awesome and amazing graphics and scenes which still pack a punch even now!

Here is my biggest argument FOR these films, obviously aimed at people who gained an interest in them by watching them as a child : You can't in any way shape or form analyze these films scene by scene the way you would any other film you have a partial interest in or have watched, these three films define a part of your life whether you like to admit it or not, in some small way they affect the things you think about most days of the year, even if its jumping on here to say "nice AT-AT" every other day.

To go back as an adult and nit pick about the films just because you can (you understand things can be made better, you can formulate more difficult sentences and you can compare with newer films and better actors) is pretty shitty in my view, I haven't personally watched any of them fully in a long time but if I had the time and sat and watched I would just enjoy it!

It brings me back, it reminds me of easier times, times when I had no worries other than chucking them on the VHS player and immediately after throwing my stormtroopers around the front room to re-enact the scenes I just watched.

It also reminds me of things like Christmas and holiday seasons (which should be happy occasions!)

Ok that is (as Grant would say) .. Just an opinion ;)

Your possibly correct mate. There are better films out there with better actors but I still love those 3 original films.
If i had to be stuck on a desert island with an LCD TV and DVD player i would pick the original trilogy to keep and watch.
They also remind me of times when i was a kid when anything could have been possible.
Tattooine might have been a real place maybe Hoth and Dagobah to.
I wouldnt change those films for anything.

Thankyou Mr Lucas.

Grant.

PS Only my humble opinion. :D :D

After watching ROTJ at the weekend on my dvd player i realised that mine has Hayden at the end instead of Shaw so im going to have to find the original dvds.
I dont think they should have put hayden in the old ones. It spoils them a little bit.

Cheers.

you can get (or could get) the original versions of the OT on DVD, they were the second disc with the special edition versions

The following site is pretty decent for searching for cheap deals online:

http://www.billybargain.co.uk

The dvds Bollux mentions are here:
http://www.billybargain.co.uk/prices-mfno1041404.html
http://www.billybargain.co.uk/prices-mfno1041405.html
http://www.billybargain.co.uk/prices-mfno1046779.html

You might well be able to find them cheaper elsewhere though.
