So today I tripped and almost brought down an entire shelf of Star Wars MOC's
Luckily in that split second I decided to take the fall and not reach out for the shelf, but if I had, who knows what would of happened to my beloved MOC's.
Anyone else experienced an almost disaster moment, or had a full blown disaster?

Not with Star Wars but the terror was tangible when my son, 18 months at the time, tried to pull the lens off my dslr. Its only an entry level Nikon but still a few hundred pounds worth with the lens

Last year I took down a tri-logo max rebo band box from the shelf, I had another one also on the shelf and that one fell down on the floor. Lucky me there was not any damage on the box  But when I opened the box both microphones was broken  I do still not understand how they could break

I have to use a ladder to dust my MOC's or balance across the staire's with my legs spread. Some times when I've had a phew beers I decide it's a good idea to check them out or dust them. Had a phew slips but nothing major. :)

I once dropped a ROTJ Leia Poncho and the bottom of the (yellow) bubble came off. Thankfully nothing too rare or expensive.

I nearly dropped my brand new Imperial Shuttle a couple of months ago. I was ****ing around with it sitting down and it slipped out my hands! I had one of those comedy moments re-catching it before it hit the ground. Luckily I grabbed it in time :?

I've had a couple of bad moments in the last few weeks...

Can't display my AT-AT Driver Mocs at the moment due to lack of space so they're in the loft - each one is in one of Christian's acrylic cases which in turn is in the bubble wrap and individual outer cardboard cases that they come in. I was moving stuff around up there and was in the process of putting these individual boxed Mocs into the larger shipping cases, when I knocked a pile of them through the loft hatch onto the floor of the room below. As if this fall wasn't enough (which must be a drop of about 10 feet), it was made worse by the multitude of additional impacts dished out by the ladders as they met the Mocs on the way down. 9 Mocs fell out of the loft and fortunately none of them were damaged; heart in my mouth for a while though!

On a less satisfactory note - I was thinking of selling my Kenner Stretch Monster. It is in great nick complete with box and polystyrene trays. The whole package should be a solid £300 to £350 based on eBay sales.... Took some photos so I could list it and then left it in the spare room. Woke up to the sound of my 5 year old son making a racket and found him charging around the house with my stretch monster - don't mind that at all - just wished he hadn't ripped the box into 20 pieces to get to him! At this rate the boy's not going to make it to be 6...

Not SW, but I did sit on a carded Mars attacks figure by mistake a few weeks back. Luckily it was one I was going to open. But I hadn't planned on sitting on it. I put it on my seat as I needed space on my desk, turned around to do something else, forgot about it and sat down hard.

It's not a good feeling.

Cheers

Got a metallic bespin blaster in a lot and when I initially saw it I dismissed it as painted custom and was going to give it to the boy (would have been lost within minutes  ). A few days later I decided to research it and discovered it's true origins. I was pleasantly surprised :D

I was carrying a box that had all my afa figures in...around 20, including a 12 back palitoy large head han and various other palitoy cards cards that are even rarer. For some reason the box just disintegrated as I was holding it and everything came crashing down to the floor!

Luckily no major damage. A few guns came loose and some of the cases cracked.

But for a moment, my heart missed a few beats!

Nothing too scary for me - when my son was a toddler I came upstairs to find my Last 17 figs, usually displayed on a bottom shelf of a cabinet, lying on the floor

No damage but if it had been the top shelf with a DT Luke there could have been trouble

Got a lock on my cabinet after that

More recently an action man on display fell down and knocked a die cast TIE off the shelf and broke a wing.

I was a bit gutted but luckily the nearby MOCs survived the domino effect

LOMs tale is pretty bad - it's a risky business vintage and kids!

Nothing too bad. But was doing a float test on a couple of Han blasters, one sank and one floated. Picked up the sinking one from the hottom of the sink and accidently pulled the chain to the plug. The floaty one went straight down the suctiony whirly thing. Was so angry at myself! Lucky wasnt a more expensive figure accessory.

I've almost had this happen on one of my showcases. Apparently the glass wasn't properly fitted and there were a few IRREPLACABLE pieces within the display that had the glass fallen through I don't know what I would have done! :(

Should've checked the trap/U-bend? Might have got stuck there.

I had someone in my display room and they tripped and went smashing into a wall of carded figures.

Luckily the star cases did their job and nothing was damaged!

My friend once came down to c me from up North and had a nice Palitoy 30 back Lando for me. He handed it to me on the door step and like a dick I dropped it there and then right on the concrete pavement
Thankfully it was in a star case and it bounced nicely and no damage was done :p
