CC the family OK now?

Thanks AJ, father in law had a heart attack. He's resting in hospital now.

Hope your dads ok.

I have been watching sports I have no interest in but enjoying the atmosphere.
Just read that 150,000 condoms were given out to athletes, no wonder why everyone wants to participate.

I'm there! At the copperbox watching women's handball. Just seen Croatia beat Angola. Up next, Korea vs denmark. Great atmosphere and the Olympic village is awesome.

A friend of mine is playing in the men's hockey later for gb. James tindall. He's **** hot! Come on team GB!!

Was watching the Wight Water Canoeing(I know thats not the proper name for the sport but cant remember it) when a guy called Richard Hounslow popped up for Team GB. He used to be in my brothers year at school so 2 years above me. Small world when you see somebody you know taking part in the Olympics.

Thoroughly enjoying it so far, makes me proud to be British!!!

I'm taking the wife & kids tomorrow. We got 4 tickets yesterday for the Canoe Sprint for £50. Was looking on the site yesterday & saw them, my little girls are loving the Olympics so far and thought why not. They were glued to the Archery and after it finished I made them a bow and arrow each from the trees in the garden - its their new favourite toy and they haven't put them down.

They held the torch as it came thorough Brighton so going to see an event tops it off for them even if it is Canoeing :? .

Yeah Ireland (republicly southy bit) has 2 50mtr pools open to the public,, now there are romours of rich people having their own ,,
but really its pretty hard to get into the other public ones cause there is always some feckers training for some stupid swimming race.

I must admit, i've been really enjoying the Olympics. The opening ceremony was a pretty awesome spectacle, arguably the best opening ceremony there's ever been and as i don't tend to work in the day i've been watching quite a lot of Team GBs contests. It must be said that Equestrian is like watching ****ing paint dry but most other contests have been quite watchable. Few golds today and some great underdog stories (Judo, Shooting, Canoeing) have made for great viewing. We're up to 5th now which is quite good for us.
On top of all this the fact that the organisers/mayor/government, whilst splashing billions of taxpayers £££s on the event, have ****ed up the organisation of it so badly that there are basically no extra people in london and journeys to and from work have been a breeze. Seriously, london's like a ****ing ghost-town. Actually travelled through Hackney a few times this week and it's been no bother at all.

Anyway, as i said, enjoying the actual sport itself and actually quite proud of all our boys and girls at the moment.

Pete, dude my dog is looking at me with a look of... "Dad, take me for a walk ffs!"

This afternoon has been brilliant. I haven't left the sofa!!

C2, shooting, rowing, judo! Come on the swimming, cycling and sailing!

Can't believe the security balls up and the whole ticket fiasco though. Cash points crashing and food running out etc etc.

Maybe, we are being hard on ourselves though and these issues dog most games.

I'm trying to get some tickets, if not i'll go and watch the triathlon and marathon.

Go team GB!!!!

I'm sure they do in terms of trying to control how many people are gonna end up in your city. It's a tricky balance (fyi; i haven't seen london this quiet in years) but the whole seating fiasco is a disgrace. There have been dozens of events with 1000s of empty seats and when that arrogant **** Seb Coe is question about it he refuses to admit any fault. "Oh they're for delegates and important people..." what a 1000 of them?? Also, **** delegates! Let the people watch the games you **** monkey!! If them tossers aren't turning up GET THE PUBLIC IN THERE!!! Not the ****ing army! What were you thinking?? That looked good didn't it?, 500 soldiers, in fatigues no less, filling up the stadiums. It's an unforgivable mess.
Anyway that's the more political/organisation side of it which was always gonna be a **** up.

But yes, i've been enjoying a much needed day off watching it and it's been brilliant. Shooting (Gold), Judo (Silver) and Canoeing (Gold & Silver) were all fantastic. We weren't meant to get anything out of any of them. And i think we got a silver in rowing didn't we?
Watching the Cycling now. This one we actually should win. Actually as i speak we've just broken a world record. 8)

To paraphrase MC DT - I'm loving it, loving it loving it

I'm not defending the Gov or Logoc, but they HAVE to give so many tickets to delegates and "friends" of the Olympics, ie corporate sponsors. It's in the contract the IOC make all cities sign when they apply. You don't sign, you can't apply. It's that simple.
The same goes for Olympic traffic lanes (thanks to Atlanta ****ing things up), and the ridiculous tax breaks the sponsors are entitled to.

To be perfectly honest the entire IOC and the Olympic Games is no longer about sport it's a corporate free for all and a license to take a few back handers and make some quick money.

That's not me being down on London 2012, I think it's going pretty well, more slagging off the IOC who seem to look after themselves first and foremost and sport, the athletes and the general public come a very very distant second!

Ohhh and i though that opening ceremony was ****ing shite! Impressive choreograph undoubtedly but ehhh WTF was going on most of the time?
The bit about the NHS was just bizarre. WTF has singing and dancing got to do with the Olympics anyway?

Great night to be British

and for all the whingers ... surely even you have a smile on your faces now

.....................and then the football...............................................wankers!!
