I know some of his figures are nice and rare but a lot of these figures are normal ones mint but still comon figures and they are fetching some serious money and getting mad bids on them all.

His name is Adam Burges, he is quite well known on RS/here/TIG forums and is quite a nice chap by all accounts ;)

Good product = good prices I guess :)

Come on there is some figures with loads of bids just normal figures somthing dont add up and they are selling for 2-3 times normal prices.Somthing smells fishy tbh

I have quite a few bids on his items but think I might get busted on most of them - there arer some great rare figures in there inc the Dark Rebel Soldier and the Ledy Bib & Squid.

These just look great and you know that you are getting the best

Some people prefer to buy once and not upgrade, these are from Adam's mint loose set (his own personal collection - not spares).

Go figure, nothing on ebay surprises me mate to be honest, it can be a great place for bargains and then all of a sudden things go crazy. Good luck to him.

*(I also quite clearly remember Craig's collection did exceptionally well when he sold up a while back as well- I think people would rather spend 15 quid on a figure that was good enough for another collector than risk 5 quid on some random ebay auction on the off chance the figure you get will be all original AND mint)

I understand the rare figures you mention but even the common crappy figures have loads of bids on them dont make much sence.

In a nutshell - yep that's pretty much it. Buy once and get it right ;)

Sounds like a croc of to me as i seen a guy try sell a luke bespin mint mint figure dark boots etc a guy from rs 30 quid and it didnt sell had to relist 3 times then he gets 80 quid for one easy ummmm lol. There is also a lot of mint figures out there why would u want to go crazy bidding on the common figures really fishy.

If the Squid head and Bib variants are real then they will fetch high prices. Without AFA grading tho you'd be mad to bid on them imo.

The figures looked beautiful- the first 12 especially went nuts.

People either want minty mint or dirt cheap- mid range stuff isnt selling at all well. Great time to buy a C8 collection

It has set the bar pretty high- He must have cleared several thousands already. I would have had a few off him but my money is going elsewhere at the moment.

Well i have some super mint figures about 60-70 figures now spotless mint mint do you think i could get these crazy prices????I also have some rare varients all great cond maybe i should try sell um then if mint mint figures fetch soo much money!!!!

No disrespect meant, but didn't you read this?

Depends what figures you have but in a word yes. As stated, ultra mint figures go for very good money as fussy collectors wait ages for them. I've seen a first 12 R2 for for 60 quid. I've seen a Luke go for 50. It is much rarer than you think to find genuinely mint (not a spot or mark on them whatsoever) figures especially the first 12. People state their figures as C9 or C9.5 but it's almost always bullshit. Also variants like Lily Ledy or Red caped Bib or Squid can go for very high prices.

Anyone know what the ledy and vc jawa finish at? I am on my mobile and eBay is crap on my phone ;)

I think Adam has been round for a very long time and reputation can count for an awful lot.

If I knew the guy who was selling and his reputation for quality I'd pay a fair but more knowing the items were spot on.

Fair do's to him I say

I have bought from collector like this in the past knowing that I will be getting the best. A lot of it comes dwon to what is being sold at the same time and how knowlegable the seller is.

Speaking from personal experience, I get a lot better prices for my figures now than I did when I first started and that is down to the reputation that I have, mainly through my feedback.

Cheers Pete- I would have thought the ledy would have been more than the vc. £315 is a very strong price for an ungraded jawa.

The one I did see was the blue snag- could believe how strong that went- the torso was badly yellowed (the boots were mint though!)

Very well done to the seller- good reputation, GREAT photos (massive help to prices) well listed equals best prices for loose figures in ages!!

Yes some of the prices are crazy for bog standard figures but there are a few factors to consider:

Firstly, forget the shill bidding thing. Adam is a very well respected collector (i don't know him but know he had/has some lovely high end stuff)

There hasn't been an ebay sale of loose rare variants like this that i can remember in the last 7-8 years of my variant collecting.

Simple things like the way he put the pictures on a slant really bigs up the auctions as they look unique and different. He has listed some stuff that i for one have never even seen a picture of before. (It's a pleasure just to see a picture of a chocolate brown coloured romba prototype. This was always a mythical figure to me)

There are a lot of new variant collectors especially around in the last couple of years. Just look how much VCJ go for nowadays. Less than a year ago they were still £200 or less. To me, this is a pretty common figure that you can buy most weeks on ebay/forums if you can afford one! Nowadays the price has doubled for some reason

That said, a a lot of the basic figures have gone for a song but it's the people bidding on them that makes the price sky rocket. Fools and their money possibly or not prepared to shop around for much cheaper deals that are always out there on ebay and forums. Good luck to Adam is what i say :)
