Thought it might be fun to have a rant post for all things that piss you off. :D :D

So ill start it off.

It really Really pisses me off when ebay sellers send you messages asking for you to leave feedback for them. I normally do my feedbacks about once a month.
So if I get a message begging for feedback then sorry but they won't be getting any.

On the other hand it annoys me when buyers or sellers don't leave feedback. I must have missed out on hundreds over the years.

You should have been here 2 months ago, I bought something off of a well known ebay scammer and he started messaging me to leave feedback because paypal wouldn't release his money until I did. The little worm messaged me about 20 times in 2 or 3 days desperately demanding feedback, it made for some great forum entertainment along with a voting poll of what I should do with his money.

You want to try selling on Amazon, it's 10 times worse than ebay, only 5% - 10% ( if you're lucky ) of buyers bother leaving you feedback on there.

I just wanted to give you a flip side opinion.

I recently won two items off of a seller at a good price. After 7 days I had not received the item. He had not marked it as dispatched and I was starting to worry if the seller was even going to honour the transaction. I emailed him a couple of times but after 3 days had not even heard from him. I was considering starting a case up against him. The items turned up the next day 11 days after I had won the auction. Two days later he sent a reply saying he was sorry but had been busy because of the Easter period and that they would be arriving soon. If I had been more rash I could have started a case against him or left negative (people have done it for a lot less). All this could of been avoided if he had the courtesy to mark it as posted, to reply to my messages or even to put on the listing that there would be a delay in posting.

As a buyer I expect common courtesy off of the seller. So as a buyer I also try to be courteous and leave feedback as soon as I have received goods.

As a seller I also like to know that people have received my goods and that they are happy with them, especially if it's an expensive item, or you are posting many items out at once. Quick response with feedback can help to confirm this.

Incidentally, I have asked for feedback in the past (when I had just started and was building up my eBay profile) but never dream of chasing for it now.

I agree with that, lack of communication is often the most infuriating thing

I'll have a rant on Monday evening. I ordered a few items from the States which are new. For the past week they have been held in Customs. I have been told the package was just released today. I had to explain what was in the package. It cost $600 so I guess I'll have another unneeded bill on Monday evening.

I bought a MOC from a seller on ebay.com, I specifically requested if he could send it as a gift so I won't have any import fees and he replied saying yes he can definitely fulfil my request, so I purchased it only for that reason. After waiting for it to arrive iv'e just got a Royal Mail card in the door the other day demanding £22 for import fees......

How much do you think I'll have to pay? It's listed probably around $600 on the package?

Probably around £100 I'm afraid

That's not good thanks edd, at least I can brace myself for Monday.

I think there's a calculator you can find on google where you put in your item value and 'ship from / ship to' countries and it tells you exactly what you'll pay. But yeah at least £100 sounds about right.

I had a guy contact me about an item that I listed on Facebook. Not only did he want me to knock off £20 on a £50 item, but also wanted free P&P... TO GERMANY!

HOW ABOUT I JUST GIVE YOU THE ****ING THING!!! HERE, TAKE IT! Rant over

Exactly this. I only chase feedback so I can dispose of the postage receipt and move on safe in the knowledge there will be no further come back. I always leave feedback immediately on receipt of purchases.

You and me both.
Once I get feedback that they are happy with the item, you can move on, until then your in limbo.
Surely acknowledging that everything is ok by feedback is just common curtesy?

I've had similar.
I had a guy make me an offer on an item I was selling on Ebay. His offer was to include free fully insured and tracked shipping and I was to pay the PP and Ebay fees. When I sat down and worked out his offer it was actually LESS than the shipping alone would have been. The tosser actually had the cheek to have a go at me when I pointed that out to him. Apparently his was a 'bloody good offer, and I'd do well 'to get anywhere near it' etc.
I really do wonder about some people. I would have been better off if I had just binned it.

Needless to say, he was told to **** off in no uncertain terms and blocked from bidding on any more of my listings.

Ouch.

I still begrudge paying those stupid charges, especially the utterly ridiculously "handling fee"
