Lucasfilm has stated that there are no plans to digitally recreate Princess Leia in any future Star Wars movie. BBC article linked below:

As much as I welcome it, the statement is a response to rumours that they're currently working towards and around a CG Leia for Episode 9. They said that they've no plans for CG General Leia, they've not stated that they'll never do it which is what a lot of news outlets are reporting.

I'm delighted they addressed the rumour though. Really delighted.

I hope they don't. The CGI in R1 is so stupid that I hope they will rewrite any script to make it more believable than this stupid CGI stuff... 8)

what about if she gets horribly disfigured in episode 8 and she becomes half woman half machine General Leia Skywalker, the most fearsome military general. They could use a synthesised voice, give her a friggin jetpack, all sorts of stuff..

I think the best way is to write her out of Episode 9 by just saying she has disappeared between films. Just my thoughts, a CGI Leia so soon after her death is wrong. :(
