Sorry if this seems a little soppy but I wanted to share.....
As some of you will remember, we lost our little pal George the Cavalier a few months ago, which was devastating, we said we wouldn't have another dog.
We had a great 10 years from him.
Thanks guys again for all of the support and advice given.
We had re homed 2 golden retrievers over the last 25 years though, and we were thinking about it again.
We enquired and there was a 6 year old needing a home so we popped over today, yes you've guessed it...a new member of the family.
There is still a twinge of guilt, as it felt like we were being disloyal to our pal George, but the fact that this little Goldie needed a home sat well with me and the Mrs.
She is a lovely dog, very calm, and fit straight in at home.
Feels really good to be re homing a dog as well, we made a donation, £120 is the minimum, but these ar all Registered and chipped full bred golden retrievers, that for one reason or another need a home.
The lady we went to who runs the NW retriever rescue, has rehomed 5000 retrievers over the years she has been doing it, what a fantastic thing to do.
So I thought, albeit a bit soppy, I would share the good news, and if anyone is thinking about re homing and giving a loving home to a dog that needs one, my advice is go for it, if you can give the time and a loving home it's a very special feeling, and these dogs, I swear know whats happening, and are brilliant.
Here is Sophie, she has claimed the buffet in the lounge already.......
And Im back down the pecking order again
