It's not a fair comparison to include the Khetanna when comparing Haslab projects and how many backers they had as at day 'X'. What everyone seems to be forgetting is that the Khetanna was the first and only Haslab project that was only available in North America. You couldn't back the project from Europe or anywhere else outside of the USA and (I think) Canada. I certainly couldn't back it from here in the UK, and hence I had to ask a friend of a friend to back it for me in America, and very kindly they did. Had it been available for backing worldwide, I'm sure its day 'X' numbers would look far healthier.

As for the Gunship and whether it will be backed, I said before that I think it will probably reach its target (just), and I think I still agree with that. However, I have also seen people withdraw their backing for the project already (I check the backing count several times daily and have seen it go backwards), so if it gets close to the deadline and people don't think the tiers they want will be unlocked even if it does get funded, I can see a fair few people pulling out.

Whatever the final backing figure, I think it will be close to not getting funded and I will be surprised if any of the tiers get unlocked.

It's certainly touch and go, hard to say, but if I had to bet everything on it I would say it won't get backed.

They should have done an Andor Tie-Intercepter as the next Haslab. Strike while the iron is hot!

this could well be the lego shaped nail in the LAAT sized coffin... These are all big (very big) ticket items and realistically folks may be picking between them (for one I will be saving up for the Death Star ). Almost a week on and things not really looking any better. not even 300 backers added in 6 days - so if that is a constant through to the last 2 days this isn't going to break 5k, meaning around 3k needed in the last 48hrs to get funded - I would say zero chance of any Tiers being unlocked now - which will likely mean folks start dropping out rather than backing so that number grows...

So where does this leave Haslab? Probably a bit of an overswing to make bold statements based on one campaign, but maybe when we add the Rancor to this and look at the overall trend of things slowing down we can? Or at least what's the point of the internet if we don't...

For one thing, let's be clear the LAAT is a cool vehicle, certainly one of the coolest from the Clone Wars era (IMO). so why has in bombed so badly? My initial excitement at the ship faded fast, really for one reason - the ship is well trodden ground for Hasbro, as are the figures, there is simply nothing new here - Enter the Rancor, again well trodden ground for Hasbro - if a little less so than the LAAT.

So if Haslab is meant to be for once in a lifetime stuff, then that's where they need to focus - I sell believe that fans will pay big bucks for something they see as a holy grail - just look at Lego, they have no issues shifting high price items.

So where to go.... With a slump in content it's hard to look at anything supported by a film or a TV since Disney took the reins. Ashoka already got the Ghost (very much a once in a lifetime model). Mando already for the Razor Crest (likewise). Andor, as good as it was, didn't really give us anything Hasbro could take a swing at, The Acolyte was so bad no one will ever touch it and Skeleton Crew seems to have been quietly cancelled, despite maybe the Onix being a good shout at a Ship with figures we wouldn't otherwise get. Maybe if the Bad Batch was still going then their Attack Shuttle might have been another -Maybe.

When you look at the Disney films, there is not much there either. The Force Awakens is really all Tie's, X-Wings and the Falcon - all well trodden ground (and in the Galaxy's Edge Falcon - already perfect). The next two films likewise - no real standout iconic fan loved ships or playset ideas to work with. Rogue One did give us a very cool AT-AT, but again Hasbro have done that - and made it remote control with firing guns etc - they did a great job. Maybe a U-Wing.... Hardly Haslab stuff.

So for me the future lies in the OT and PT. But again there isn't a lot there to pick from. On the PT side maybe Darth Mauls Interceptor or a a Royal Naboo Starship (Although that has been done) - A full blown Pod Race Playset would be a cool thing, as would a Venator Class Ship. A Republic Juggernaut might be a good shout as well.

On the OT side you might struggle to find a ship to pick - most have been done to death now - but playset wise two remain un-visited since the Kenner days - The Ewok village and the Death Star. In recent years Lego have shown how they can be done and hasbro might do well to look at that - big sets, lots of play features, lots of figures...

So my pointless ramble almost over, it leaves me saying. Stick to the older films, stick to making things that have either never been done, or have been done only once or twice... Ever, and ramp up the value, more figures, more play value...

In no particular order:

Mos Espa Pod Race Play Set (With multiple Pods & Drivers, Arena section, Jabba and box guests, Qui-Gon and group watching)
Ewok Village (Large multi-tree based playset, lots of Ewok's, Rebels, Imperial troopers, Speederbikes, AT-ST, lots of traps)
The Death Star (Go to town - massive play set - key scenes from across the OT (Copy what Lego have done) - A **** tone of figures)
Republic Juggernaut (troopers, Jedi, Seperatist forces..)
Royal Naboo Startfighter (Escape from Tatooine so we can have Darth Maul in there)

Anyway - in 11 days we will see just how badly this Haslab has done...

Maybe - but that's a big ask.
It's taken 33 days to reach 48% funded meaning it now has 11 days to gather 52% - even with a final 48hr push I think that is asking too much. But you never know - I think they are showing a pretty much finished toy at some convention in the US this weekend - that might help push it and I am sure their social media team will kick into gear with around a week to go - but in reality it will need to go some to do it....

Well the campaign has had a bit of positive momentum the last few days. It's up over 50% (52.6% to be exact) funded now. That means it added 4.6% over the last six days, with only 6 days left to add 48.4% - at it's current rate it will barely make 60% by the time the clock runs out - But if there is a mass swell of adoption and those on the fence hop of and all that, it is still possible (I am not betting that it will...), but you never know - While the overall project I think is dead, we will see - I do think it is safe to say no tiers will be unlocked here. the lowest is 10K support - which would mean adding 5792 votes in 6 days, thats 1500+ more than it has in total now.

Anyway - these pointless posts will end in a week and either give way to the 'they should have done this....' talk OR the 'I told you it would fund, you should have had faith' talk....

Sooo - hold onto your hats - this might (I mean might) get interesting - by which I mean closer than I thought at any rate
Just over 1k backers added in the last 3day - which must be the biggest jump since launch day a month ago
Now if it does another 1k in three days then if will fall well short - but if this is the start of the end of campaign ramp up and it gets the same percentage increase again in the next 3 days as the last then if could cross the line...

I am still saying NO (although with less conviction that a few days ago) - but, if it can getting 800 backers before the US fully wakes up in a few hours then 1k in the final 12 hours with the US online and it may well get there...

I would back this project IF I had the space, which I don't.
I totally agree with most of the reasons why some won't back it and do believe that Hasbro could have and should have done more to produce a once in a lifetime "Gun Ship".
But I really want the TVC figures this campaign will generate.
So fingers crossed it passes…I'm have from the beginning and still am predicting it will.
