Well new version anyway -

As an EU lover I'm really looking forward to this. There's so much more about ANH than what appears in the film. The book and radio shows were awesome.

Agree. Took years before I picked up an EU book whe I did there was no stopping still reading them now
Brilliant

Heir to the empire. The boss :!:
Dark force rising and on. Read them....superb

Just jumped back and reading. Before the storm then on to the other black fleet crisis books

Have tons of SW books

But do agree TZ books are superb

Might be an idea to star a thread for the books in relevant section see what people think and get some pointers to books worth a read :?:

Thought about that too but it really needs its own section as posts will disappear if it's just in its own thread really fast. Don't know if Edd would consider the request? Will PM him. Can't hurt putting it as a section in OT.

The artwork looks pretty good so I'm sure It'll be a good read once it out. I'll have to check some of those old novels out as well, I don't think I've ever read one thing other than the comics and a shed load of books on the effects and toys.

Seriously Pal

If you have not read Heir to the empire give it a whirl and you'll be hooked
You can pick up on amazon for peanuts

Some novels are poor (Black Fleet crisis - in fact Zahn summarises those books in one line in one of his novels. Something along the lines of Lando wasting 3 months wandering around a ship) but most are excellent.

Read all the new Jedi order books they were good

My son bought me the SW The essential readers companion nice book lists all some cracking artwork in it as well

 31st March, although most places are reporting 1st April. This is 100% confirmed as legit and not a hoax. Actually I haven't seen any April's hoaxes other than the Dark Side Leia for Ep. 7.

I'll hunt one out Michael and give it a read, always good to get a bit more wrapped up in this world. :)

Heir to the empire, dark empire and shadows of the empire in comic book form are excellent, never read the books.
Read Splinter of the Minds eye or something, thought that one was good though... :p

The books are another level up again. Well worth it. Splinter was ok - really interesting from an historical point of view when you compare it to ESB and how different the story went.

I'm no expert on the books just love reading them but do think a lot of people would be introduced to a new SW dimension by reading eu books
There is loads of info if you google Star Wars timeline books it brings up links to runs of books and the order to read them in

I fell foul of picking up books at markets etc and reading out of sequence but still loved reading them all the same

So something on here offering guidance and info would probably be useful
