New Special Buy limelight.

Hey guys,

Decided i would start a new thread about my 'Special buy' focus. Hope thats ok with you all

Around 4 years ago i set out to start building a focus on the UK Special buy sticker items. I have an attachement to these items as i remember them in the shops as a kid, and also remember seeing them a year or two after it all went quiet when i was long past my SW stage. I actually remember buying Metallicas 'One' on 7" in Woolworths and seeing these items stacked all over the counter, those were the days. My aunty also worked in Woolworths and i used to get a treat or two from her in the time when i was still SW mad. Some people might find it a strange focus but to me, its something unique.

All the items pictured have been purchased over the past 4 years The Trilogo Ewok teddy and B-Wing are my 2 latest aquisitions thanks to Lewis Reynolds and Iain. I do have a special offer 8 figure pack which i couldnt find at this moment, but i know its up there as i hid it away Top of my priority are the Falcon, Cap2, ISP6 and the POTF Tri sets. The X wing is nigh on impossible but they do exist and were in the shops back then. The Bwing is in mint unused condition but has been opened. The AT-AT, AT-ST and a few others are still unused with accessories in bags.

That's an amazing collection you've put together

I remember seeing some of those price stickers from back in the day and although I've never been a fan of any sort of priced stickers on my items I can certainly see the appeal of these and with so many of them put together in one place it looks truly impressive!

I love to see a group shot if you get the chance.

Looking sweet Ian, really is a great thing to focus on, you going to add the POTF/Tri logo 1.59 stickers or just staying with these round ones mate?, where's the woolies pack? I thought you managed to pick one up for your run?

Fantastic way to choose a focus and such great pieces you've pulled together too. I remember these stickers well as a kid myself and they do evoke a host of memories.. as you say... Woolworths! I imagine though the stickers are often removed though by collectors or are you finding a good amount (relatively) available to keep building the focus?

Nice run mate. I remember Woolies having @ @'s and Ewok Villages for £4.99 back in the day when they were on clearance. My Mum didn't seem to think I was needing either even tho I was desperate for an @ @ Walker lol. Kudos away. G

Indeed I do mean Lee WTF :? must have been having a blonde moment earlier, I know I had been chatting with a buddy on one of the marine forums earlie called Ian, thats the only thing I can think & my excuse which I am sheepishly sticking to John :lol:

EDIT - would indeed be class to add some of the 1.59 stickers to this focus LEE!

Jeez! What about those prices, something else. What a great focus to have. Now if I recall correctly, wasn't there a big sealed bag of loose figures that had a special price sticker and didn't someone on here found one at a car boot sale?
