Heard about this being talked about on the radio yesterday, I grew up in the 80s and although I remember liking postman pat I can't believe it was the best show of that decade. And how the hell is pingu second?

Now were a forum full of members who had their childhood in either the 70s or 80s. So who agrees with the list for your decade in the article above?

As an 80s child my favourite by a million miles was dungeons and dragons, loved that show and have the box set on DVD now.

Use to have a board game of this, does anyone know if they ever made any action figures?

Rentaghost always seemed to be on when I was a kid series after ****ing series.

Some great classics there, the 80's was definitely a great decade for kids TV 8) much better than the crap on TV today, we should have a 'are modern kids tv programmes crap' to go along side the music one :lol:

For me in particular I loved Dungeons and Dragons, Mysterious Cities of Gold, Ulysses and Dangermouse (have them all on DVD and have introduced the kids to these series which they love). There are plenty more great shows that have been mentioned by others.

As for the Daily Mail list Postman Pat!!!!! says a lot about their readers :roll: I reckon a SWFUK top 3 from the 70's, 80's and 90's needs to be compiled :wink:

I grew up on a steady diet of cartoons, Scooby doo, Hong kong phooey, Captain Caveman, Tom and Jerry and the Hair bear bunch were my favourites, all made by Hanna Barbera or whatever they were called.
If we're talking British only shows, Ivor the Engine and Grange hill.
But I hated 'Why don't you'.

All great, well most.
The fact that loads of them were British was lost on me then but now after watching the US shite that my kids watch I think that we had it pretty good.
One of my earliest memories was Battle of the Planets, a dubbed Japanese cartoon I think.

My top two are transformers then close second heman.non cartoon would be a team then night rider after that its lottery .got nice memory of jamie and his magic torch as it only seemed to be on while I was at me nanas r.i.p

Used to love most things that were on Saturday mornings throughout the summer holidays. That's when you got all those shows like Why Don't You, Wackaday, Charlie Brown, Pink Panther and the Looney Tunes stuff.

Anyone watched He-man recently? I didn't notice when I was a kid, but he is blatantly gay. I bought the DVD box set and had to turn it off after 5 mins. He's just soooo camp. Kinda ruined it for me.

Top three. Yeh we should do that it's tricky because there are loads I remember. Was probably glued to the box so would watch anything. Half of it i had no interest in - stuff like Blue Peter and Jackanory. Most fond memories are of the weekend shows.
