Heard about this being talked about on the radio yesterday, I grew up in the 80s and although I remember liking postman pat I can't believe it was the best show of that decade. And how the hell is pingu second?

Now were a forum full of members who had their childhood in either the 70s or 80s. So who agrees with the list for your decade in the article above?

As an 80s child my favourite by a million miles was dungeons and dragons, loved that show and have the box set on DVD now.

Use to have a board game of this, does anyone know if they ever made any action figures?

As for other shows I loved during the 80s

Thunder cats
He-man
Flumps
Dogtanian
Count duckula
Button moon
Fraggle rock
Muppets
Alf
A-Team
Batfink
Danger Mouse
Wacky Races
Defenders of the Earth
Turtles
Real Ghostbusters
Trap Door

And these are just the ones that are springing instantly to mind, so many of these far better than pingu.

What was everyone's favourites growing up?

How about everyone's top threes from their childhood.

There are far too many for me, that's cos I'm an old git :D so there will be a few early ones here

Watch with mother
H.R. Pufnstuf
Asterix
Top Cat (brilliant)
Captain Scarlet
Thunderbirds
Hector's House
Vision On
The Banana Splits
The Clangers
Magic Roundabout
The Pink Panther Show
The Herbs
Camberwick Green
Dastardly and Muttley and their flying machines
Sesame Street
Mary mungo and midge
Chorlton and the wheelies

He man
TMNT
THUNDERCATS
Dogtanian
Gummi bears
Byker Grove!
Worzel Gummidge (truly a masterpiece!)
Count Duckula
Danger Mouse

Out of all this in the more modern era ( to me that is) MOTU and Thundercats were awesome!
Used to watch them and use my lad as the excuse, have most of the DVD s ...and Gummi Bears of course

The various lists have pretty much covered things but I always liked this one -

Some great classics there, the 80's was definitely a great decade for kids TV 8) much better than the crap on TV today, we should have a 'are modern kids tv programmes crap' to go along side the music one

For me in particular I loved Dungeons and Dragons, Mysterious Cities of Gold, Ulysses and Dangermouse (have them all on DVD and have introduced the kids to these series which they love). There are plenty more great shows that have been mentioned by others.

As for the Daily Mail list Postman Pat!!!!! says a lot about their readers  I reckon a SWFUK top 3 from the 70's, 80's and 90's needs to be compiled

For me it's.... (in no particular order)

Dangermouse
Ulysses
Dungeons and Dragons

:)

Great shout on the Jossy's Giants, loved that one too 8)

I grew up on a steady diet of cartoons, Scooby doo, Hong kong phooey, Captain Caveman, Tom and Jerry and the Hair bear bunch were my favourites, all made by Hanna Barbera or whatever they were called.
If we're talking British only shows, Ivor the Engine and Grange hill.
But I hated 'Why don't you'.

All great, well most.
The fact that loads of them were British was lost on me then but now after watching the US shite that my kids watch I think that we had it pretty good.
One of my earliest memories was Battle of the Planets, a dubbed Japanese cartoon I think.

My top two are transformers then close second heman.non cartoon would be a team then night rider after that its lottery .got nice memory of jamie and his magic torch as it only seemed to be on while I was at me nanas r.i.p

Used to love most things that were on Saturday mornings throughout the summer holidays. That's when you got all those shows like Why Don't You, Wackaday, Charlie Brown, Pink Panther and the Looney Tunes stuff.

No.73
Muppet Babies
Dungeons and Dragons
Dogtanian
Grange Hill (early series)
Jossie's Giants
Vicky The Viking
Transformers
Masters of the Universe
Trap Door
Fraggle Rock

Then you've got the weekend shows like A-Team, Nightrider, Muppet Show, Airwolf, Street Hawk, Battlestar Galactica.

There are loads. Great time to be a kid :D

Man the 80's had so many great cartoon and kids shows on the tele:

Transformers
Gummi Bears
GI Joe
Thunder cats
He-man
Turtles
Ghostbusters
Ducktales
Scooby Doo
Denver the last Dinosaur
Flintstones
Talespin
The Addams Family
The Smurfs
BraveStarr
Rescue Rangers
The care bears
Teddy Ruxspin
Garfield
Foofer
Freggles
Muppets
Alf
A-Team
.....

Man so many cartoon memories...

Rentaghost always seemed to be on when I was a kid series after ****ing series.

I use to love rhentaghost, I use to always try and sit on the sofa like Timothy claypole sat on the table

Some classics there.

Never a fan of rent-a-ghost either.

Anyone watched He-man recently? I didn't notice when I was a kid, but he is blatantly gay. I bought the DVD box set and had to turn it off after 5 mins. He's just soooo camp. Kinda ruined it for me.

Top three. Yeh we should do that :) it's tricky because there are loads I remember. Was probably glued to the box so would watch anything. Half of it i had no interest in - stuff like Blue Peter and Jackanory. Most fond memories are of the weekend shows.

Wackaday
Pink Panther (had the coolest theme tune - 'Rinky Dink Panther')
Dogtanian (Muskahounds)
