To be clear Chris, Ben WAS banned outright from SWCC. He was initially stripped on his MODship while the remaining MODs decided what best to do. Then, with all considered, decided it was right and proper that he should be banned permanently.
If they had not banned him i could see deleting your membership as i did (and many others) with TIG when they decided not to ban their friend Wolff. The guys now running the SWCC know better than that.

ben was only kept on as a member due to the fact that his admin account was the founding account for the swcc. once myself and vc worked out the details he was banned outright and his account is only going to be used to work on the forum sofware from now on, his former account is now marked as admin.
i hope this clears up any misunderstanding regarding bens status on the swcc.

Recovered stolen property is usually auctioned off if an insurance payout has been made?

And just to be a ****: legally- ignorance is no excuse, if you are in possession of stolen property you are committing a crime.

Edd are you buying back the parts of your collection the insurance company find ?
I'm assuming they are selling it because it is theirs.

Anyway I'm happy this sad affair is finally coming to a conclusion.

Can you answer this question, Edd? Been curious myself how it all works.

I'm not going into detail on anything to do with the police, insurance, Ben, my personal finances, exactly what I got back etc. Sorry but I'm sure you can understand I feel more than slightly violated by all this already.

I don't want to know about any of that. I just want to know how you got them out of the insurance company. Did you buy them back or not? I am sure as **** they didn't just give them to you. It is not how they work.

It's all good, no hard feelings. Happy for people to ask questions about it all, I have nothing to hide, but it's up to me which details I want to post on a public forum. I could write a book about it if I wanted to :lol:

Posting my life story on a public forum is what got me in to this mess in the first place, forgive me for not wanting to make the same mistake twice.

Considering there is a PM function on this site I think it's pretty rude to ask here and imply (because that's what it looks like) that there is something fishy going on with regard to Edd's stolen collection and the pieces he managed to get back after all these years.

Sure everyone probably wants to know everything about this issue but seriously, second guessing honest people like Edd just to satisfy your own curiosity is really scraping the barrel.

As I spoke to Edd quite a bit about all of this recently, I can assure everyone that Edd is not hiding anything and this issue has been bubbling under the surface since the Leia was spotted back in early January which is a long time and a lot of stuff behind the scenes happened. Edd had to contact a **** load of people including the police/insurance company and all of the people that had bought stolen items personally to get an idea of where he stood, what could be done and what had actually happened.

There is of course stuff that hasn't been said in public because quite simply it doesn't need to be out there, some of the members of the boards are evidently more nosey than others but instead of making yourself look like the Star Wars interrogation squad perhaps people could remember that not everything needs to be known, personal questions don't always need to be asked and if you really do have to know, why not try asking that person directly in private instead of making it look like you are hassling them in public under the pretence that its' for the good/interest of the community?

Somehow these things always manage to turn into arguments.

To be honest, I would have expected a few more rants about how big of a **** Ben is considering he was such a figurehead against scamming on ebay and the boards when he was in fact the biggest thief of them all but instead it has suddenly turned into this..

Ben stealing £10,000 worth of figures and holding on to them for years then slowly selling them off through his own forum and through meet ups at conventions is suddenly the secondary issue to all of this, funny really isn't it?


Edit- in fact there are two people here that are/were on SWCC that usually make sure they put the boot in on cunts but have hardly said anything about the entire thing..says a lot and pisses me off! :twisted:
