I feel compelled to chime in here. There is good in the modern line, I feel the conflict within it
Joking aside, there are some good 'sub-lines'. The shadows of the empire stuff from the POTF2 line is great and it was responsible for giving us the first comic 2 pack sets. Which jumps me forward 10+ years to the comic 2 pack line, simply awsome, fantastic run of 60+ offerings ranging from OT to EU with the odd Prequils thrown in, they look stunning as a full set.
The Vintage Original Trilogy sub-line is great, 20 odd figures that look fantastic and the Lucas Trooper to finish it off is lovely, obviously they are the template for the full vintage line that came along a few years later, in itself that is a nice line.
I love the disney crossover/parody sets, quirky and fun and some nice exclusives.
The lego sets coming out now are stunning and getting better and better. Expensive, yes, but given the quality and the playability (yes these are meant to be built and played with) you will struggle to find better peice per pence ratio for a toy and you know in 20 years the value will have held and the toys will be just as solid as the day they rolled off the production line.
Personally, I liked the power of the jedi line, it gave us some nice new figures and some great ships.
After that there are a slew of exclusives and convention sets that look nice. But for all that there is a lot of average to poor out there.
