MOC AFA Bubble

It's the chance you take with graded items. Once they are fully sealed in those cases, damage can happen at any time.... mostly during shipping as the bubble cannot be protected.
Best option is to buy a nice ungraded example, then put into a superb GW Acrylic case... Looks exactly the same (if not better).

Will become a big problem over the next 10-20 years if you look at how brittle bubbles are becoming. More and more getting damaged even ungraded that allow for some level or protection, but completely unprotected bubbles in AFA cases are ticking time bombs in the postal system. They'll eventually become almost impossible to post with risk of significant damage.

Depends if your sending it of in the post again, if your keeping it what's the point in breaking a perfectly good case?
Unless your like me and you want all the cases to match, then why buy a graded one in the first place?

There is no rush when you're a beginner to run out and buy loads, spend some time here, read a book or two and learn how to spot fakes. Thankfully (in the most part) fakes are pretty easy to spot. A lot of guys on here will be very helpful if you get a picture of a potential purchase to verify its validity.
I'd personally recommend buying a few cheap pieces first too, that way you can see in hand what a real (but maybe poor quality) real item looks and feels like, take a look at the MOCs under £50 thread on here, loads of stuff out there at bargain prices and the benefit (and small initial cost) of such an education will far out weigh the cost of any more expensive mistake later on!

I think that the time some of these carded figures can't be posted will soon be upon us. If not already here.
I bought a really nice Lumat all be it with a yellow bubble, from a well trusted guy last week, only to receive it with a nasty crack and hole in the top of the bubble where his ear had come through during posting.
I will certainly think twice about posting yellow bubbles and will keep my MOC in GW acrylic cases rather yhan risk posting them for grading.
I see a graded figure as that was the grade when it was graded, it might not be like that now or in the future.

If it gets damage then it gets damage if regraded it will not get the same grade, there will be no warranty from AFA. If you buy a new car and crash it 5 years later, that's exactly what happens with your graded MOC. :lol:
There is no guarantee that the MoC is a genuine factory sealed piece just because it is graded. AFA and UKG have graded hundreds of toytonis down the years... Best advice is still to do your research and not rely on these so called experts at the grading companies.
You also have to remember that even if it's graded it doesn't mean it's a fake. Read up on the Toy Toni scandal. Original figures, bubbles and cards but not sealed at the factory. Duped both AFA and UK Graders and many a hard core collector too.
If you want to go down the MOC route you are, as already mentioned, better off doing a bit of research. Plenty of info on here and on Rebelscum.. all with collectors that are more than happy to offer help and advise. It's not something you want to jump into lightly.

If you know your stuff and you're buying from trusted sellers why buy graded?
You're paying ridiculous premium for a sticker and a case, don't get sucked into craziness.
Admittedly I've 3 graded MOC ( had 4 but I busted one out its case) however I got 2 of these from forum members and 1 from eBay and paid for them what I'd expect to pay for ungraded I versions.
The bubble protection is non-existant on graded items. It's even questionable for ungraded items, but at least seller like Iain Sanderson goes to great length to protect the item.
