I didn't see the Boba Fett on the day, anyone know if he is on the boards? How was it organised Stu, are you part of a group in regards to dressing up? (I just read that back and although it sounds like I am taking the piss, I'm really not)
All that lot in the group shots are from the UK Garrison which is basically an arm of the 501st which is a worldwide Lucasfilm
approved costuming group. Mainly Star Wars, but also other characters like you can see.
They attend events all over the UK and there are probably 5 events a week.
I'm at Great Ormond Street hospital next Tuesday, there's 8 of us going and we go round the wards seeing the kids.
That new Currys advert has an R2 in it from the Garrison. We're at the flaghip John Lewis in London in a few weeks and when the
new Star Wars Adidas trainers were released we were at the their stores in London.
It's all for charity, none of us get paid but we ask for money to be donated to specific charities we are involved with.
It's actually just good fun and the guys and gals involved are a bloody nice bunch of people.
I know the Ewok, her name is Carol, she's in her thirties and vertically challenged shall we say! Her other half is a SandTrooper.
The large Bikerscout is currently building a Vader suit (but he realises he has to go on a diet first!!)
It's great fun, but it is also taken quite seriously with movie accuracy.
Marty McFly that you can see in the photos has gone to amazing detail. He's got the exact trainers, bodywarmer, sony walkman, headphones etc from the film. He even has a tape in the walkman with a Handwritten 'Van Halen' on the tape, exactly like the film. He also carries 8 different photos of the classic family photo which shows his family disappearing.
The hitman that you can see just recently had a barcode tattoed onto the back of his head!!! ****ing mental!!
