Maximum photo size limit?

I got a new phone a few days ago, and now every time I try and upload a photo it says it is too big. The photos are only about 4mb so not huge. Please can you either increase the maximum upload size, or on the old board I had a plugin that automatically resized photos to a more sensible file size, maybe something similar is available for this forum software?

I found this, I've been having to screenshot the photo I want to upload and then crop and upload
