After nearly 10 years of trading Madeleine's Vintage Star Wars shop will now be closing down.

To a certain extent it has become a victim of it's own success. It is taking up so much time and we just cannot keep up with it all any more.

Madeleine used to work part time but was made redundant last month. She has just found a new job but it is full time so will not be able to devote time to wrapping star wars items and taking trips to the post office every day!

We have one more delivery of stock due and after this there will be no new stock. We will list everything we have and then slowly reduce prices / accept lower offers until we are out of stock. When we know we will have some time we will send items from our shop into auctions to sell it quicker.

It will probably take some time to shift all of the stuff we have but once it is gone it is gone. I personally will miss it but with us both having full time jobs and 2 young children we just cannot keep it up.

Keep an eye on our auctions in the new year - you may be able to pick up some bargains!

Thanks for the support from people on this forum over the years

Glenn

If you have any Dengar stuff Glenn, feel free to let me know and maybe we can work a deal on it off ebay :)

That's a shame Glen, I've bought from you in the past and I've always been pleased.

All the besy for 2010.

Sorry to hear about the shop Glenn + Madeleine but wish you both all the best in the future with your full time jobs :)

Always wanted to ask - Do you actually collect or just buy and sell?

If you do collect, what do you have an interest in? :)

Thanks for all the kind words guys :)

It will take a while to sell all of our stock so we will still be around for a little longer - we just don't have the time any more to keep going.

Having built up knowledge/contacts over the last 10 years it is always something we can fall back on if we need to.

I don't actually collect myself but I used to. We were struggling a bit for money when Madeleine was pregnant 10 years ago. To get by I sold my star wars collection on ebay. While I was selling it someone contacted me thinking I was a dealer asking if I wanted to buy his collection. He said if we could pick it up the next day we could have it for £200 (he knew it was worth loads more but he badly needed space not money!)
Anyway we bought it for £200 - it included all figs (inc. most last 17) some carded figs (again inc. last 17) and enough boxed ships to completely fill my car! That was the start of our shop!!

Am half tempted to keep some of our stock and start collecting again!!

Nooooooooooooo   I'm gutted mate you were a great seller. I've had loads of loose figures from you on eBay over the years your figures are always great condition and i know i wont be ripped off. So sorry to see you both go. Best wishes and good luck for the future.

Have just transferred 75 items from shop to auction - all 99p start price and all with no reserve.

Happy bidding :)
