I bought one for £151 at Ebay auction in October last year, I need another one though and would offer that amount again if you are willing to move on the price. I know there has been a chancer listing one on Ebay for £500, but that listing has been around for ages and don't for a minute believe they are even worth half that.

Thank you for the offer but I'll pass.

I think the price sounds correct at the moment, if I would sell the one I have then I would have tried to sell it for the same price.

Good luck Stephen with the sale, I am sure you would soon find a new home for that blaster

Thanks Lars :)

Reassuring to have two respected members agree on the price

Judging recent sales I would say the current market demand has pushed these upto £300

Good luck with the sale.

I'm sure the price is what it should be and mean no disrespect to Mumbo but after looking at this thread since it was started I'm still in disbelief that people think it's ok to spend this kind of money on a blaster. It really does seem crazy to me and I know a DT saber would go for even more but I really can't get my head around it, it's not like it's a unique shape or anything.

As I said no offence intended and I know comments like mine really aren't meant for this thread but I just needed to get that out there ( I do wish you all the best with it though Mumbo and if this blaster completes someones figure then I'm sure you'll make them very happy).

No problem at all everyone is entitled to express their opinion and I guess the same could be said about a lot of Star Wars items which are just old bits of cardboard and plastic :)

Price has been reduced down to £300 and a Luke Jedi Kenner 77 back MOC has been added.

I know this thread has somewhat transformed into a valuation thread but a Metallic Bespin Blaster sold at auction yesterday on Ebay. It was well listed by a prolific dealer and finished at a good time of day so should be a good barometer. It went for £218. I personally still think that's on the high end but these particular guns (and the dark brown rebel soldier) seem to be particularly 'hot' at the moment.

Market forces will put a certain piece at a certain price at a given time, and if a seller wants to sell it at that price that's fine, even reduce it as is the case here.
Personally don't think it fair to then fill the post with personal opinion on price.
Mumbo is a member on here that is well respected, and always on hand to help others.

Just my opinion :D

I'd like to apologise to the MODS as I've clearly put this in the wrong section as it should belong in the valuations section, my mistake

Just my observations from the other ebay listing, the quality of the pictures aren't great the two best pictures that are in focus can't be zoomed in on whereas the other poorer quality ones can be, not sure if that is just me or universal?

From what I can make out from the pictures the tip of the blaster has some damage/wear and should that be the case the value would reduce and it would also make mine in better condition.

I appreciate you are entitled to your own opinion but when the majority of other respected posters have agreed with the valuation you seem to have an agenda.

It almost feels like you are trying to bully me in to reducing the price of the blaster, you've declared your interest so have a motive and I think your tactics are shoddy and below the belt, shame on you!

Luke Jedi MOC now sold, I hope that was priced accordingly

Stephen (not Mike!), I've shared my opinion, as others have on price. I did, and still do, wish you good luck on the sale! As mentioned they are a hot item and if you list up on Ebay auction starting at 99p with nice pics and a finish on a Sunday night then you'll get fair market value for it, and we have all seen items fly for far higher than anyone anticipated so you could well achieve what you're hoping for. Good luck!

Mumbo, no need for an apology. Before I write anything else just let me say that it's hard to be a moderator when something like this happens on the forum, especially when it involves members who have been here a fair amount of time.

OK, so..discussing the asking price of Mumbo's metallic blaster in his sales thread is not against the rules here but please remember he didn't post this in the valuations section, he wasn't looking for valuations and he didn't need any help on how to price his item. So..although I personally think that price discussions are important in this hobby, if you start them in someone's FS thread it quickly becomes detrimental to their sales.

I don't think it's cool to hijack a long term members sales thread and I think mumbo's been calmer than most people would have in this situation but enough is enough, if the price is too high - nobody will bite, if not then it will sell - It's not like he was asking £1k or anything.

Mumbo, if you want to start a new sales thread please feel free. If I see a new thread I'll lock this one tomorrow!

Cheers!
