Lost a friend

Sorry in advance, but needed to put something in words!!


Lost my friend today,
Just a dog I hear you say,
No, so much more, the truest friend,
From the first day until the end,
A shining example of where mankind should be,
All opinions she would see,
Never judgemental, never unkind,
Always there to prejudice so blind,
Unconditional love and loyalty given free,
In this day and age a lesson for all to see,
A sad day today but I'm sure time will heal,
The loss and sadness that I feel,
I am privelaged to have had my time,
In a friendship that was truly sublime

Sorry to hear that mate R.I.P. 30th of June will be 9 years when my best friend died.

Sad to hear Mike and I know how upsetting it can be to lose someone who's a big part of the family so hope you're not getting too down about it.

Sorry for your loss and no need to apologise; like you say, there's nothing 'just' about losing a dog. They're family members and until you've had and lost one you really don't appreciate how much of an impact it is. I've had all kinds of pets over the years and nothing compares to the companionship of a dog.

We lost one in 2017 and another in 2018 and it was awful. My wife in particular hasn't got over the one we lost last year, and probably never will.
