An orange cape is for sale on RS :)

Saw that and that price is taking the piss  They generally go for around 40/50 (s)quid on ebay. I don't own one but would like one if they are comfirmed as genuine but until i see a carded one i won't commit to that sort of dough :)

Its sold for 150 euro!!!!!

FACT - The Orange Cape Squidhead has never been confirmed carded considering how many Squidhead MOC's are still in circulation its pretty safe to say this is either fading or a home made job and not a true variation IMO.

****ing hell i might have to go and dye a few squid capes at that price

The red one in your pic looks iffy to me. The 2 reddish brown ones on the right may be okay. I think it's logical that different cloths (and thereby slightly different colours) were used in (different) factories when the rolls ran out. It's the bright orange one that crops up every now and then that i have a problem with as it only seemed to surface 3 or 4 years ago with the loose variants boom. I would love to see a moc and if a carded example showed up i think that the loose ones would shoot up in price even more, to similar proportions like the orange hair Luke farmboy

I agree with Lee, there is of course a possibility with everything in this hobby but to be honest it is SO radically different than a normal greyish cape that it has to be approached with caution and probably doesn't originate from Europe/UK.

I would be more likely to believe that it could even be a LL red squid cape that has simply faded through sunlight damage, especially being from Mexico, it isn't exactly the North pole over there.

That is probably the original origin of that kind of colour cape but of course once someone see's the prices go through the roof for a new variation they start popping up every week.

Probably a handful of damaged capes and a hell of a lot of tampered with capes.. (either way they don't do a lot for me!)

That's one for Gutsie, Craig or Coco.

Nice Squidheads though.

You were doing nurnsies even back then Weasel.

Ohh yeah, my typing is great!
I can't take the credit for Nurnsy though, I just adopted the nickname! :D

What about this Squiddie then? No mention of orange cape in the description although judging by the final price i think someone bidded thinking it is an orange one. It certainly doesn't look like a suppossed true orange one to me. What do you guys think?

Ive noticed that tan capes come out orange with a camera flash, that defo isnt an orange cape, i think its been a quiet fake that has generated extra cash.
