Mine has a black background. I defo think you can see the figures best with a plain background. A mirror looks good, had that in a figure cabinet, you can see the back of the figures.
Loose display cabinet background ideas?

I like to keep it to a single colour background as well, I think it makes the figures the focus & makes them pop the best, you could go for the yellow on the 77 backs to add a splash of colour?

Love seeing this Edd, I've still got my loose figures in an ancient Ikea Bertby with a plain back.
What I found interesting is that you have ROTJ at the top and SW at the bottom. Is this due to 8D8 and the spacing or you being a relative youngster and Jedi is first and foremost?

Looks nice. Bit cramped to add more imo.
I saw someone do the colors of the original single color carboard backgrounds in individual compartments once, which looked good too.
