Lets all laugh at Liverpool

Can you imagine if Liverpool appointed Harry Redknapp as manager, we would end up with Keane, Crouch and David James back at Anfield.
I live near Portsmouth and a lot of people here think he's a Complete ****, Because he left them to manage the scummers. Even when they won the cup they still hated him.
He is good at getting the best out of average / ageing players.
I dont think he would suit LFC and i personally dont trust him and would hate to see him at Anfield.
I would like to see the yanks go for lying to the fans about placing debt onto the club and dragging our good name / reputation down.
I dont think Rafa has helped this situation either but at the moment he's the best option / only option we have.

Maybe should taken the reserve team players outta that current squad list, but I CBA!
I don't think we're ever gonna agree on auld Harry!
Ohh and for the record I don't think Martin O'Neill is an amazing manager either, I just think he is slightly better than Redknapp.
Ideal replacements would be someone like Capello or Hiddink, but that's as likely to happen as Portsmouth are to win the League!

It looks like Liverpool can't afford to sack Benitez anyway so it's all academic!
Saying that IF they win on Sunday theyare ONLY four points behind United, which isn't a huge amount at this stage of teh season.
But Yes, that is a huge IF!

I'd be surprised if the bin dippers didn't qualify for the CL proper, and I reckon it will be a draw this weekend. Law of averages says you can't lose that many on the bounce

Good shout there Spoons you may be right,I bet you'll get 5/2 on a draw.

If Harry Redknapp can the best out of shite players then he is welcome at Bramall Lane any day of the week as at the mo we seem to have plenty. :)

Spoons - redknapp has only relegated one team form the top flight and that was the SCUMMERS,if you study his record the teams have struggled after he left them not during his tenure at all.And when he took over the SCUMMERS they were skint anyway with no funds to even sign loan players hence jamie joining him for next to nothing.

Someone mentioned people in pompey hating him....of course they do he's sold them out twice now,but i'd doubt many would call him a "bad" manager,in fact I know from many forum chats with pompey fans that they appreciate what he achieved and said he's the best manager we'v had in living memory?

I'm amazed that liverpool fans are not keen to see james and other "has beens" at liverpool, surely it's better to have them than **** like voronin,ngog,lucas,deggen....I could go on and on.

I know which i'd rather, surely if most of you were being honest you'd rather have james as back up to reina rather than whatshisface??and an ageing striker like kanu up front than voronin?

Maybe being a loyal pompey fan from days when we were struggling to survive in div1 and div2 has made me appreciate the finer things a bit more, who knows all I know is I hope liverpool sort it all out because I do like them and would hate to see them go the same way as forest....

Cheers stef

Stef

I didn't say top flight

He was relegated with Bournemouth and Southampton, and West Ham were relegated after he left, as will Portsmouth be - it's not just coincidence

Who knows Spurs could be next :D :D :D

Browny, think of it like this, do teams struggle after he leaves OR does he manage in such an unsustainable way that he has to jump before the problems come home to roost!?

Spoons/weasel - spoons i'm unsure if you are implying he's a good manager or a bad manager by that response? and weasel surely if teams struggle after he left then it's obvious he was a good manager, surely that is obvious guys??and also you are right about him jumping ship this time around but everyone knew redknapp had 1 last big job in him,he made no secret of his desire to manage a BIG club, never in any way did he.

With reference to being relegated twice, yes indeed he was but bournemouth was his first job and think where other top managers would be if they had called it a day after a failure in their first managerial position, and I have already explained the SCUMMERS predicament when he took over,by the way he went down just 1 point behind in the end.

I'm not even sure why i'm involved on this thread to be honest

Maybe I should start my own one arguing about how **** pompey are!

Pompey are ****, no doubt about that!
But when you sell any half decent player you have and DON'T buy a replacement..................

Big game for them on Saturday against an equally **** Hull!
Fingers crossed for Pompey (I don't like Phil Brown).

I like phil brown.........

Think we'd better just end this here

Thanks for the pompey big up though weasel!

I said it before mate, you are a secret pompey fan!

jesus browny

He's got to be the biggest cocknocker out there

I've got to admit i also like Pompey  - but they were Arsenal reserves for a bit :D

interesting fact about Rafa in today's paper - he's got a better win ratio than both Wenger and Ferguson had in their first 200 games.

Only just pips Wenger (who won a double in his first 200 ) but Fergie was shite in his first few years.

Can't believe I'm saying this but give Rafa a bit more time

i dont think ferguson and wenger were expected to win the league when they did their first 200 games though were they?

and i can gurantee that they didnt go through 65 players and still have a **** squad lol.

liverpool would be a different team if benitez wasnt so stubborn and he'd have kept keane and crouch, and probaby hyypia as well!!

hopefully he'll prove me wrong...today

Ngog............what a waste fo space! But he took his goal well!

Spoons, what the hell happened to your lot? 2-0 up at half time and cruising, still ins econd gear. Never looked like losing it yet West Ham near won!? Great save by ur keeper for West Ham's first. "Hmmm shall I push this shot wide for a corner?....NAH I'll just limply flick it straight across my goal line for that nice Carlton Cole to score!"

that;'s how he makes all his saves - I think we might see Almunia resurrected next week. I was pissed off for a little bit, but relaistically we can't win every week

hopefully it will be a reminder that the lads can't cruise, same thing happened all last season and on Wednesday. Despite Wenger saying he likes players with intelligence, we seem very short of them :(

Well done to the pool anyway :D

I watched the Arsenal game with a Gooner mate and we both assumed Almunia was injured, then we saw him on the bench and were a bit confused! I think your right though, he'll walk back into the team for this weekends game!
That's a school boy error for any goal keeper to make. Let alone one at a "big four" club, regardless of him being 3rd choice, he should still know how to make a basic save!

Almunia was dropped about a month ago, when he had a 'chest infection' - he's not played since. A bit harsh i thought, he's made no worse errors than any other 'top four' keeper. Despite Manone's great saves at Fulham, he's always looked like an accident waiting to happen.

I'd say Almunia is the weakest/least good of the "big four's" keepers, but even he is miles better than that other clampet!
