I hope the last one is wrong. You may not rate him a manager, but in all seriousness WHO else is out there?
I think it is all partly a hang over from Alsonso leaving, great player, but it's also just partly down to luck. We didn't start well last year and managed to scrape draws or wins. Jay probably remembers the one against his lot (Boro) at the start of the season.
Too early to write Liverpool off, but having lost as many matches after 3 games of the season as we managed in an entire 38 match campaign last year, isn't exactly promising!

I know it's very early days but you need a new Alonso fast. I only wish Wenger spent the extra million it would have taken to get him to Arsenal last year. Benitez commenting on how torres can be put off his game can't help much either

Times like this when teams have won 1 of the 1st 3 or 4 games I always laugh(only a figure of speach lads) at fans saying how their team has had it for the season ect.ect
Does anyone honestly think the top 4 will bw any different from the last few years,with the possible exception of Man City sneaking in.

Although, Chelsea didn't create a hunge number of chances before Mascherano sliped up (and actually, not too many after). Gotta say as well United don't exactly look amazing ATM either. But YES both are playing better than Liverpool and have more points.

we had a good run last year and any normal year we would have had the title.
BUT...the squad isnt good enough, Lucas is the biggest pile of shite to ever wear a liverpool shirt along with david speedie and rigobert song.
If we lose Torres to injury we are ****ed and might have to play Voronin.... :roll:

TBF 4-2-3-1 or whatever way we play, work last season. It's just ATM Benitez is trying to get the team to be slightly more attacking (so we don't draw as many stupid games as last year) and that means the full backs attacking more. Think about it, do you ever remember seeing Arbeloa cross the half way line!? By default then the centre backs are more exposed and coupled with Alonso's abscence (a much better tackler than he gets credit for) and a few players not hitting the ground running (Gerrard and Carragher in particular) means that we are giving teams more room to exploit.
It's a big shift in tactics for Benitez (who is, after all, a safety first manager) and it's gonna take time for the players to adapt. Yes, they are paid large sums of money to play footy, but has ANY footballer ever struck anyone as being even remotely inteligent!?
Looks like by the time they figure out the change in system/style aquilani will just about be ready to come into contention.......................and we will probably already have lost too many games to have a realistic chance of lifting the league.
Also, have a look at Liverpool's non first team squad. How many of those players would get a game in a top half premiership side!? Not many. Especially compared to United and Chelsea. Arsenal being slightly different cos all their players are always bloody injured!
Ohh and apparently Aquilani is comfortably worth £10 million MORE than Liverpool paid for him. IF he can stay fit week in week out. Yes, that's a big "if". But then how good would Louis Saha/any Arsenal player, be if they were fit every week.

hopefully Chelsea will miss Drogba during ACN and we'll have a proper crack at the league this year. Much as I hate him, Drogba has been the best player in the premiership over the last few years. The likes of Ronaldo turn it on for a season, but Drogba doesn't seem to have dips in form.

Aquilani isnt that great i'm sorry to say liverpool fans,he isnt a touch on alonso and I personally think you guys will be crying out to have lucas in the team over him after just a few games.
He is an enigma and nobody knows a great deal about this guy but I have it on good advice from my mate in Italy that he isnt that great at all,sorry to rain on your parade guys,I honestly dont dislike liverpool at all and feel for you (its already over for another year )
