is there a way to tell a vc jawa with out a cape or is it just same as cloth cape jawa..

I think the VCJ came with large eyes. However, mine is the small eye version.

I think the figure cape was changed on the original jawa, rather than a change to the figure itself, as I say though, let the masters guide you

I remember reading it a while ago, I do think they come with big or small eyes though. IIRC I went to buy one that was 100% legit and the eyes did not match what I expected to see, they where small but this didn't put me off.
There is a nice little Palitoy MOC at the bottom of the page, in case anyone wants to get into that one again :lol:

I think the VCJ should have large eyes though ( I think AFA made a mistake grading one once with small eyes although you never know there might be a MOC out there with small eyes). The other thing is how the COO is written. I think there are two, maybe three different ways that have been documented although I'd always go with picture number one if I was after one (from the link below)

Yeah they were large eyes version - most common of the Jawas. Not seen or heard of any MOCs with small eyes or the slightly almond shaped ones (smaller than the lili ledy eyes).
Given the cape is the expensive part, most peeps aren't fussed - but if you want to be true to the figure then go for the larger eyes as mentioned above.

I'm guessing that as the VCJ was only for a limited run it would only have the 1st version of the Jawa (large eyes). I'm not sure if the small eyed version turned up on a 12 back but maybe it was a c back or something (I'm sure someone out there knows?). The only thing I wonder is that as there was an ESB VCJ released in OZ, maybe this one could contain a small eyed version?

Small eyes wouldn't put me off buying a VCJ, I am sure cape swapping back in the day can account for a few of them, as well as buying parts separately in the collecting world.
They must be out there though, small eyes and vinyl cape on a card somewhere...
