Hey All.

Bit of an odd question but wanted your opinions.

I have bought the correct black gun for my Jann Tosh figure off eBay from America. Its been 14 days now and no sign of it. The tracking seems to suggest it has left America on the 19th.

My question is:

Would Customs hold the item as it is a gun, even though its tiny and in no way dangerous??

I'm only wondering as I have received 2 other parcels from the US from guys on Rebelscum within 5 days.

Also, in the guys desrciption he states no refunds for lost or stolen packets, can he do this?? If it hasnt turned up surely I should be entitled to a refund.

Chris

Is this a full size gun? It's possible that if it went through the x-ray they might pick it up for a check over. Obviously it would then find it's way to you afterwards. Might just take longer.

You get this a lot on ebay and elsewhere.
No, you can't do this. What many idiot sellers fail to realise, and bank on buyers not realising, is that "no returns" only refers to a customer wanting to return an item without reason. ie; "can i return this i don't want it after-all" Some sellers, mainly big-name, will let you do this. Other state "no returns" to prevent you doing this. This NEVER prevents the return of damaged, broken, miss-represented items nor does it negate the sellers responsibility to cover lost items.
If you pay via ebay or paypal (not GIFT!) then you are protected for damage, loss, item not matching description etc. No exceptions. If ANY of the aforementioned should happen you file a claim and you win. Simple as that.

It can take weeks for packages to arrive from America, even though some arrive in a matter of days. There are no rules to it.

IMO wait until tine is running out to open a Paypal dispute, 45 days or whatever it is. 15 is a bit too soon to start complaining IMO.

That's what I thought Pete, thanks.

X-Pack, the gun is for the Jann Tosh 3 3/4" figure, so small its the same as the long IG-88 gun but in black. I can understand on an X-ray machine it might get the nerves twitching, but it would be in a small padded envelope so you would tell from the outside its tiny. Just had that thought this morning.

Is there any way of contacting Customs to find out??

EDIT: thanks Edd, I was going to contact the guy this morning but eBay have changed the system again, if it is over the 10 days they give for delivery, when you contact the seller it straight away opens a case in the resolution centre. Bloody stupid! I've no problem in waiting, just never had to wait this long before.

Chris, congrats on locating the black gun. In my experience some times items land in the uk but customs can keep them for upto 2 weeks. Annoying I know, but as long as it arrives before your time runs out to Log a claim (45 days) there shouldn't be an issue.

Ahhhhhh reeeeally. Cos i've had a couple of cases opened against me from buyers with no previous contact. Maybe that's why. Also i agree with Edd. Give it a little time. It droves me mad when buyers in the US or Canada get in touch after 6 or 7 days asking where their package is. The strength you need not to just say "how the **** should i know?!"
Having a mare with ebay at the moment. Customers seem to be getting stupider and more problematic all the time. In no small part, probably, due to how completely protected they are by ebay no matter how wrong. I had to refund a guy in Greece cos his package didn't arrive within 10 days even tho my sale stated 2 weeks minimum for over-seas.  :x And have got a Ned and a Neutral this month from completely unreasonable buyers. **** all you can do about it.
All this and the amount of non-payers i get is a ****ing joke. Seriously, you wouldn't believe it. At least 8 or 9 a month every month.
This is actually the lowest my 60 day amount (of money not received) has been at for several months. It has been close to 300 at times.

Yea Pete, it seems they give 10 days for the item to arrive. If it's past that and you want to contact the buyer and ask where the item is it goes straight to the resolution centre. Did it last week on an item my wife bought, only wanted to ask the seller when they posted it, before I knew it I had filed a case against them. Bloody Bull.

That's crap Pete, like you said its too easy for someone to buy something and then not pay without any backlash from ebay.

Now all I have to say is **** **** **** **** ****!!!!!

My tiny little weapon got caught by customs!!. Guy at work just came up to me with the packet. The weapon was expensive enough as it is, so add another £12 on to that, that's one bloody expensive weapon.

You win some you loose some. Had 2 parcels from the US last week, both over $100 and neither got caught so I suppose that makes up for this one!!

Ah right, i'm with you. That shouldn't be an issue then.
