I've not bought anything for TFA yet, am i the only 1?

If it makes you feel good ...great on you guys. For me a rubber bent up ass X-wing with a poorly made oversized figure that does not fit in the cockpit for $60 is not a feel good moment for me.

As far as modern goes, I am into the new Marvel comics and have bought a few Hotwheels cars....not much really and nothing TFA related thus far.

Think I will just buy leia , luke , han , chewy for the novelty, "are any of these out yet" but most of the figs will be discounted eventually in the shops, don't think I would pay full price at present, same as some of you, sold a lot of my ep1 2 & 3 , potf stuff now, just kept the vintage 8)

yeah.. this sounds great.. where is it???

Pete I'm interested to know whether you bought the other recent Star Wars toys - black series etc or if it's just ep 7 toys you buy?

To me they are all the same and have no nostalgic value, but can understand completists going for everything

If just ep 7 - then why not the other modern stuff?

I did wonder if there is more of a split between those with kids and those without.

If I came home with loads of modern Star Wars there would be some pissed off kids wanting their share - easier to justify buying vintage :)

im only collecting TFA Rey 3&3/4 but might collect female TFA
my slave leia collection and my loose amidala 3&3/4 collection takes figs from across the ranges. Modern black series Amidala is a stunning figure which is a work of art in its sculpt (it looks like Portman), the way it articulates in the torso and stands beautifully as its nicely weighted.
if a figure takes my fancy and appears exceptional in someway, i get it. ephant mon, han torture chamber, hermi odle, juno eclipse, dagobah luke & yoda amongst others.

Star Wars has always been nostalgic for me. Some of the black series figures IMHO are breathtaking in their detail.

Fair enough - just interested is all

Been tempted by the hot wheels like Todd, but the modern packaging for any of the lines bar the black series just doesn't do it for me.

Edit - even the black series isn't doing it :)

come on... imagine a full set of bounty hunters sitting in the corner...

Yeah the 6 inch Black series are the nuts. I can't compare them to any 3 3/4 inch figures. They're a great size, the detail and sculpts are amazing, they've got loads of accessories. They're so different to anything else we've seen. If I had more spare cash and wasn't so focused on vintage I would like to have a display with loads of them loose, would look wicked.

Some of you guys must still have attics full of TPM items. In years to come it'll be the same with TFA stuff. If my TPM collection was worth anything I would sell it all right now!

I didnt buy TPM to make money out of it. I really liked the figs and have a full carded set. I liked the commtech chip as it doubled as a figure stand.

I have a TFA Rey focus to compliment my other collecting focuses. Maybe people just like the stuff because its star wars?????

I still collect vintage too

You're right  It's sometimes easy to forget an actual love of all things Star Wars when all around seems like collecting fever and just acquisition, acquisition and more acquisition. Nowadays, with several boxes full of worthless TPM or POTF2 stuff stuck in the attic, valueless and unloved by anyone, it's hard to remember why they were originally purchased. To be honest, at the time, it probably wasn't about value. Personally though I might have had the fever a little bit

Marvel comics im doing, but im collecting these for the read, art and to keep for my little lad.

Im tempted by the black series 6" figs but the price tag puts me off. Ill buy some if/when they drop below a tenner.

I just find it sad that any figure you buy for your kids ( any line SW,Marvel etc ) costs £10 upwards. Lets face it, these things are meant to be played with but the price tag deprives many families of the possibility of buying them for their kids. It was a battle for me to get extra figures when went we shopping in the ESB/ROTJ days :) i used to badger the old dear continually until she gave in :) all for around £1.50 or so at the time. However parents have the harder task now of spending £10 and justifying it, which is such a shame for the future SW fans. If any action figure produced in mass quantities is worth £10 in labour/production cost alone then we may aswell give in. I say 5p for the card/bubble, and 50p max for the figure, which leaves little to the imagination as to where the majority goes. Disney dont care as its making them money, and if you think they care about what you think then think again.

I won't be collecting anything as I don't have the space to display what I've got and they'll just end up in a box in the loft a load of other boxes.

If I picked anything I'd probably go for the BB8 but it's way too expensive for something that would only get played with on Xmas Day.

Not really interested in buying anything toy related from TFA unless it's for one of the kids.

I keep reading that Disney is milking the franchise for all it's worth but I don't really see it's any different than it's been in the past.

I'm mean FFS there's this :

Through the 70's and 80's you could play with, bath with, write with, wash with, brush with, sleep with, walk with, get dressed with Star wars merch. You could also watch it, read it, listed to it, eat it, drink it, drink out of it, draw with it, rub out with it, put your pencils in it, sharpen your pencils with it, rule a line with it and even put it on when it rained. I can't see it being much worse than the previous and at the end of the day we don't own Star Wars we own our own memories of the original era.

I hope the new films are good and I hope my kids enjoy them enough to create their own memories even if it's only a snippet of what I have. The world too bloody serious these day, any chance for an escape into is good enough for me.

Yeh but that's really cool! Looks like 3PO sat on the toilet buffing his rod and ready to suck off 21-B

I like his realistic nipples

I was at C7 and even Anthony Daniels admitted he was bemused with the C3PO Tape dispenser - that's gold, Ryan! :D

I bought one Kylo Ren. There. I've admitted it. I am loving the lead up to this movie, and I quite like some of the figures, but I'm sticking with just one of the bad guy. In addition to my Vader focus, I also collect the Sith Lords on the initial cards that they came out on, hence the one Kylo Ren. Now that some of them are 'Legends' now though, I'm not sure where that leaves me...... that's another issue though.

Still a vintage guy though, please don't judge me. It won't happen again (until another new Sith Lord comes out....... :))

Cheers
Pat

I can't c me touching the new figures with poss the exception of BB8 :!: I have fallen in love with him as he is so 8)
I must confess I did buy the Sphero BB8 which is just awesome 8) 8)

Cheers Max

That 3PO is histerical. I brought the 3 3/4 Kilo Ren yesterday as my son is already into the new film and he really wanted him. Can't believe their £10 each. They make them to detailed now for me, would be a lot better if they made them more like the vintage line and sold them for £3 or £4 each. He's got my childehood beaters and he plays with them just the same, I mean if you want to build a Stormtrooper army now it cost's you £100!

I have vowed not to buy anything TFA related. Ever.

Whether I remain steadfast, only time will tell. I'm working on my display and a new loose set so all spare funds going to that.

I want to, i still want to. I just haven't found anything yet thats made me go f**k yeah!
Heading to Disney though next week, i'm hoping to come home with a tan, lower blood pressure, great family memories and a BB8!
