Hi Lads,

Bit of advice needed! :(

I sold my Sonic Landspeeder to a guy from France on ebay on 25/03/2012.He didn't pay so i opened a non paying bidder case & he finally paid on 08/04/2012 so i posted it by Royal Mail Airsure on 10/04/2012 as i've used this service several times & had no problems(until now! ).

Its saying that it was delivered on 17/04/2012 but i've just had a message from him saying that he hasn't received it yet!

I've got a feeling this guy is gonna try & rip me off & open an item not received case with ebay/paypal even though i posted it to the address on the paypal statement.I've kept my postal receipt so would i have a leg to stand on or will ebay/paypal side with him???

I'm not gonna out him yet but rest assured i will on ALL the forums if he opens a case against me!!!

Cheers,

Mark.

Edit:was delivered 16/04/2012 not yesterday!

Hey Mark I'm sorry to hear this. I would have thought that as a seller you have done everything right here. If the tracking info says it has been delivered then chances are it has. Did it require a signature the other end?

I do hope the postie didnt decide to just leave it on his porch and mark it as delivered.

Keep us posted mate. What more could you have done ask???

Chris

I had this before :(

he will prob try his luck with an ebay case or a reversal from the bank.

If the tracking shows delivered though you stand a good chance, send a copy of the recipt to paypal and the tracking number and cross your fingers

Hope it all goes ok.

Andy

Cheers lads! 8)

Chris, apparently Airsure doesn't have signature confirmation on delivery even though its more expensive than International Signed For?

****ing hell,i've just realised that i should've sent it ISF!

Honestly mate it doesnt matter if you request a signature from a foreign country it can take up to 30 days and your not even guranteed to get it, by then the claim is over.

if it says delivered then you should be ok, ive had a claim go against me even though it said delivered, and when i rang up to complain i got foreign people who couldnt speak fluent english, it pissed me off so much i swore at them too.

i have another claim at the moment, item delivered, signature ect but the buyer has reversed charges, ive sent all the info and the case is still open...i dont know what will happen.

Andy

**** stories like this put me off getting back into buying and selling! Why are the so many aresholes out there?

Royal Mail is shite with its rules and regulations regarding claims, if you claim for anything under about £40 they cough up with an apology letter and a cheque, anything above and they are twats.

Ive sent tons of recorded delivery items and even though they have been delivered still nothing shows on the website tracking, just says "in progress" so any deadbeat can see that and file a claim.

One handy tip is dont fill in the tracking info until they have left feedback, then they cant check it and try their luck.

That's a very good tip.
They don't need to track the package, you do! Wait till it's there and then add it to protect against claims. S.M.R.T.

Back in the day I never worried about this type of thing, now with the new ebay rules with feedback (Seller gets ****ed) and paypal, every package is sent tracked. I think there are tons of Ebay watchers who just wait to find out a guy does not track packages and once they get the package...it obviously was lost in the post. Bunch of assholes......BTW for those that deal on the sales forums on RS, I would track that **** too....they seem to be running into scammers more and more. I pretty much only trust a handful of the dedicated members on here and a few friends...everyone else I assume is out for a freebie.

As far as I know, Ebay will find in your favour if you have tracking and it is marked as delivered.

Yeah I can't really see them going with the story..."Well It did not show, it must have went to another addrees by mistake....so I want my money back"...but then again Ebay thinks that only buyers can have a bad experience...thats why sellers can no longer leave a negative....Dicks.

I thought pay-pal or eBay rules stated you had to have a signature as proof if delivery. I know Andy has had issues with RM Int Signed For but unless you use that or a courier service you may struggle to win the case.

I know a member on here recently went through this when he posted a nice Tri logo figure to a guy in Hungary. He used Royal Mail Int SF and he got a refund of over £100 from Royal Mail... Not sure how eBay settled the car though

Hope you get it sorted out pal

I've just posted an item to Mexico City, I'll be amazed if it's gets there

Did he get the refund for damage or loss? if its damage thats when ive struggled.

loss is normally something they cant argue with, as its lost lol, but i would love to see them pay out on a toy for £500, i bet you might struggle.

my main issue is with updating the tracking info, but like i said, i dont give them tracking info until i have feedback.

Andy

Sorry to hear that mark, I reckon it's 50/50 whether eBay will side with you. Logic says they should but I've heard of cases where there is no signature and the seller has been shafted

What the **** good is tracking then??? It shows it went from point "A" to point "B"..........I guess my shipping fees are going to go up with signature confirmation. What the **** happens when the guy goes "That's not my signature!"...Does ebay agree and go along with it and say 'Nope, not his signature!"

I had this happen to me too last year over on the Bay. Unfortunately I was a di*k and sent my item untracked and lost out on £175. Iv never used the Bay again for selling. Good luck man.

Grant.
