Issue resolved , thanks everyone , William30

This is a tricky one. We don't know that he's a scammer as the parcel could have got lost and he may have been dumb enough to post without insurance or keeping a receipt. At the same time we won't know that he hasn't just pocketted the money and done a runner.

Sadly we see far too many of the second example so cynicism is understandable.

The lessons to take from this are simple,

1) DON'T PP Gift to someone you barely know and who is a newbie on here.
2) FFS DON'T FORGET RULE ONE!!!
3) If you do buy always ask for or pay for insurance/tracking. If you sell always offer insurance/tracking and if the buyer declines, make sure they know it's their risk, and keep a proof of postage.

Sorry to see you out of pocket. Don't let it put you off buying on bere, plenty of decent sellers.

Unfortunately I believe in the good old values and like to think off guys I deal with, are decent fellow Star Wars collectors .

Bloody hello that's another 4 I need to collect to finish my loose run

Well what goes around comes around

Most people on here are. The only issue arises with newbies who haven't been on for long. We can't vet members to ensure they arent scammers, so people have to use some common sense and take out a little protection with insured/tracked postage and non PP gift payment. If it's a long term member you should be safe enough, but it never hurts to cover yourself.

It always sucks to not receive something (or receive an item that is clearly not what you thought you were buying  ), and to not be compensated makes matters worse but after reading through everything it would be good if william30 could write something in this thread from their side.

Obviously there's no reason for ever not responding quickly to a buyer when there's a problem but it would be good to hear what they have to say for themselves.

Still sad news to hear from you Steve and I also like to trust people first on places like this but I probably would have covered myself a bit with a new seller for peace of mind. Hope some good comes out of this thread.

Hi Steve,

sorry to read about this fella. I have a spare Warok (just missing his bow) which you can have free of charge. just pm me your details and I'll send him to you. At least then you'll only be needing 3 figures for your loose run :D

Hmmmm........ not being able to provide a receipt though seems to be a big enough warning for me. Fair enough not insuring, I get that. But a free receipt to show the item was sent? Seen that before.

What a great gesture, nice one!

Ok i'll keep this very short .

I've received the money and shipped it right away , i've made a video of me packing it like i do with all my video's i always write in the packages so it's visible that the package has bin opened yes or no , i do have recipe of the payment wich i will send .

The late reaction on Stephens emails where do to a holiday to london and after london i got very sick , but out of all my transaction i ever did to the uk i have never had any problems at all and i always include standart shipping ( my bad i should've told him it was standart , or he should have asked if it was insured) , but i've waited on packages from the uk for 2/3months so it may stil arive .

Lets be very clear i'm not a scammer i'm a very honest person if i need to make money on something i will tell you , i'll never lie to you .

Either way i will go back to the post office and i'll check again what my options are ,in holland you wont get your money back if you did not insure it.

If i can help to solve this i will do so in anyway possible .

To get back on my name and buying from me in the future , Stephen or anyone else can buy or trade with me and feel safe i'm very honest i've never screwed over anybody neither did i do that in Stephens case he may feel like i did but i've shipped it together with 4 other items .

Marktplaats.nl yes i do sell on marktplaats but not under the same never i've sold stuff on marktplaats for 10 years never had a failed transaction.
Since my future business will be about vintage and retro toys i need to be able to say hey my name is william i'm a trustworthy guy i've bin selling and trading for 10 years .

Send the money back to him, right away. If/when he receives the pieces he paid for, he´ll re-Paypal you.

Case closed

Not wanting the throw a spanner in the works for you William, but if you wish to keep a good trading name for yourself & you did not insure the item or tell the buyer he has not having it sent with cover, sadly the blame weighs on your shoulds solely & you need to refund the buyer if the item does not turn up within a reasonable time period IMO.

FYI I also buy & sell quite a bit, but I ask that buyers have items sent with tracking unless they want to take the risk & if they wish to take that risk I ask them to make payment via gift so its a 2 way street.

I do hope there is a happy resolve for you both though.

Just to add on , I asked for a refund and confirmed if the figures arrived , I would pay for them again no questions.

Sorry but I am not in the business for paying £115 for nothing !

I am glad you have posted William , maybe we can resolve on an open forum

Thanks

Just a side note - I sent a few cardbacks out to a forum member over that way a while back and they appeared to go missing. I refunded of course but eventually after weeks and weeks they did turn up at his end. There was an option for a really cheap postage that went by sea if I remember rightly. The postage time was about 6 weeks! Obviously I didn't opt for that but I have a feeling my parcel went by sea anyway

i think they will still arrive , and i do think free shipping shouldn't be asumed as free insured shipping it should be discussed by booth parties i don't see this as blame on 1 party but on booth , i will see what i can do and .

Hi William ,

If you want to resolve the issue , refund my funds no question, if you want to be a credible seller . If the figures arrive I will of course pay for the figures again .

The balls in your court , I feel I have been more than patient

PM me if you want to

Cheers

Steve is a fantastic guy. If he says he will re-pay you for the items if they show up, then he will do that. After all, Steve put trust in yourself with a gift payment. I know it's a shitty situation to find yourself in, but for the name sake of your reputation as a seller, just re-inverse Steve. If you were in the same situation as Steve is, then I think you would want your money back too.

Even with the possibility of slow delivery, at this stage, a refund should be issued without question. Personally I would be asking questions at anything over a week. Over two weeks then it's going to be serious questions and seeking a refund. Over a month though... :?

William my man...

You will see what you can do? It´s been clearly stated what you can do and should do in order to keep your name clear. No need for you to come up with any new solutions. If you´re legit as you claim...I can´t see any reason NOT to do the right thing, it was £115 right? For me, a pretty small amount to "set at risk" if you plan to list more items here or on other forums further on.

Note that I´m not trying to hang you out at all, I´m just trying to explain how simple this could be solved with the result of everyone being happy. Also a pretty cheap way for you to get this thing out of the way, don´t you think?

Check this out,

1. Transfer the payment back to Steve. Do it now
2. Contact your post-office, check where that package is and why it haven´t been delivered.
3. Wait.........

If or when the figures arrive at Steve´s place he will re-send you the payment AND......... I will personally gift you £40. If the figures are lost, gone and never to be found, you have paid a veeeeeery small amount to keep your name clean + made future sales a whole lot easier.

40 quid extra on top of the original £115, sounds pretty good right?
