Bumping as I'm guilty of not posting as much, but need to get the forum buzzing again, very quiet at the mo

I visit the site every day, still comment here and there, my collecting has been in limbo for a while but still picking up bits here and there, still think this site is an Oasis and still feel there is a core of members here that are great guys the knowledge on here is still second to none, there still banter and humour and great posts, just need to see if we can pep things up a bit, any ideas?

Knowledge, acerbic wit, humour, interest and life comments, all good stuff in a challenging world we live in at present, this forum still to me is a respite from the daily trudge, and often brings a smile to my face and cheers me up.

Just treated myself to a new mobile and made a point of not loading FB or instagram on it but this forum is proudly saved on it.
Completely agree about how positive a place it is. The people on here are all top blokes and I love reading what they post. Check in a couple of times a day but don't post as much as I should.
Time to get sharing again and enjoy this place for what it is - the original home for SW collectors

Yep, I don't really collect anymore, either. Love my collection, but when you're actively (constantly!) on the hunt, it feels very different. It takes a lot of focus and is on your mind regularly, directly impacting when/what you post.

Good point ,maybe that's the thing that collectors have slowed or stopped collecting which in turn reduces the amount of interaction on here and results in logging in but rarely posting.
Still though for me it's a place to look at new pieces being collected, seeing collectors still finding in the wild, still learning new snippets that let you see certain items in your own collection in a new light etc.
Lars with toy of the week is still a constant, and a welcome one.Revisiting old posts is as said "gold"
For me Franks Baggie reference guide is phenomenal and again I utilise this constantly and still learning new snippets something new every time

Like a few of you I don't collect any more. I've sold 90% of my collection. I could have kept it but it lived in boxes and it seemed a waste, why not let someone have it who will appreciate it?
I still check in albeit most of my posts are about football…arguably I know more about variants than I do football, and I know FA about variants.

Having been on here since the start, when was the start @edd_jedi 2004/5, it's second nature to check in once or twice a day.

I think the fact most of us are late 40's or more means we have less free time than we did 20years ago, before kids, families and careers took over. The banter will never be what it was, FB groups weren't a thing then, but look at RS and IG they are dead.

It's just time, things change and people change. There's still a decent crowd who check in here occasionally thankfully.

I really enjoyed speaking to collectors and looking at vintage at Echo last week, it even made me look at a few things on eBay over the last few days! I'm similar to Weasel in that my job and kids take up 99% of my time, and whether we realise it or not collecting takes up a lot of time and brain power, I'm short on both currently. I'll always love it, hopefully in future I'll have a bit more time for collecting.

Another one time collector here. My interests are fairly wide and I'm a member of several other forums so don't always check in as often as I would like to.

Like Weasel, I sold off nearly all my Star Wars collectables some years ago. The older you get the more it feels like time to slowly pass on stuff to other enthusiastic (younger) collectors. These days I find myself looking at photos of what I DID have rather than what I still have LOL. I still can't believe how much money some of the old Master Replica props sell for - at one time I had a few nice items I bought direct and shipped to me from the USA. Always hard to let go!

Sorry that I have not been so much at the best forum in the galaxy. I still fight with my jaw problems and my stress. But I fell that I am not far from being well again but it takes longer that I thought it would.
