INDENTIFICATION ON A 8D8 DROID LOOK!!!!!!!!!!

Hi there, its my first post on here not sure if i'm in the right place for this or not but here we go!

been collecting selling and trading for a while, I have had lots and lots of 8d8 droids pass through my fingers over the years but in a recent lot that i bought I found an 8d8 droid with a yellow body, its not discoloured as the colour is consistant across the body and does not spread to any of limbs (which are pretty white) and its a totally different tone to any discolouring i have seen before, more like a mustard colour, i compared it to my worst discoloured imperial snow trooper, and its nothing a like, it definatly hasn't been painted i sent my eyes crossed checking for brush stokes or overpaint on the limbs but again nothing.

I have checked everywhere on the internet, checked it against 4 other 8d8s i have at the moment a few of which are discoloured!!

the colour is very similar to that of the body of the bgj-38 droid i know these 2 shared the same body anyway but it looks like that with an 8d8 head

please help do I have the rarest star wars figure in the world or the the most heavily discoloured one in the world?

Your not gay and single are yah? If Joe O weren't married he would probably have your kids right now...considering he may have found the one and only other 8d8 collector in the world. I hope it works out for ypu both

And IMO it is just discoloration mate. But I am sure Joe O will chime in and correct me if I am wrong.

No disrespect mate , but your the one with 1269 post on the star wars collectors forum not me, i only joined to ask this question!!

I know Josh is Australian, but I don't think there's anything in what he said to warrant a reaction like that. :?

To answer your question: definitely discoloured.

By the way, its L@@K!!!1!!!!, not LOOK.

I used to live in the netherlands in tilburg and waalwijk, but back in the uk now!

and calling me gay would always get a response like that!

groetjes!

Josh didn't call you gay, just made a joking reference to our resident 8D8-collector suggesting that you would be a great match for each other were you (both) to be of the other persuasion so to say.

By the way, I think one of our mods (weasel) lived around those parts in the Netherlands too. I live near Amsterdam myself.

the torso & limbs are made of different plastic & hence deteriorate differently. I count bumps & notches & every other ****ing thing crazy variation collectors do, but that is neither a variation or the worst discolouration or a rare figure.

welcome :p

thank you jedi master that answered my question perfectly that was all i was after regards!

It's actually a very rare prototype figure cast in an off yellow / tan plastic, Kenner used this type of plastic colour for the first figures off the line.

In my opinion its easily a $500 figure.

I am naturally too honest, my apologies.

To the original poster - I highly recommend sending this figure to the AFA as a "first shot in non production colours" - hopefully you can get it authenticated.

See told yah! Joe would be all over it ;)

And James...that makes you naturally dishonest mate

Bit further south and east, but not a million miles off.
Not sure our newest member will be back though.

Are you kidding? He will be in a PMing frenzy with Joe as we speak :)
But your right! Probably already got the gunnery invite
